I was able to use the free one day passes they gave for an add on toward my discounted AP, I don't see why this would be different (since you actually paid for the pass).

I am hoping to do this as well, use the value of the 1 day ticket to pay for my DVC AP! If not, not a big deal, but hope to be able to.

2 Adults (Mom and DS)
5 nights
6 days ticket, getting no expire option as we will probably only do 4 days
$976
May use FF miles and fly this time  and use Magic Express ~ both FREE !

I would suggest that you wait and add that No Expiration fee at the end of your trip...just in case you do actually use the whole thing. Might even make sense to make it a 7 day pass, since that doesn't cost much more (if you do add no expiration to it that is)

I did not book insurance or a preferred room. The only thing I can think of may be I did get hopper tickets instead of base tickets. :confused3 What was your quote?

Thanks, I will.

I need to call member services anyway tomorrow/Tuesday and will let you know just for sure. Upon reserving yesterday I did ask if I could use the base ticket to towards the purchase (not combining) of AP renewal and the CM said yes (she checked this with her supervisor). Note that the DVC AP renewal $ is the same as FL AP renewal - I don't percieve a problem, but will confirm.

I was under the impression that you could use any ticket (unused) and apply that towards the cost of a greater priced ticket or annual pass, with or without a DVC discount. This even includes old hoppers.

UPDATE:
I called DVC member services today and they could not give me an answer. They suggested that I call the Annual Pass information number, which I did. The cast member confirmed that you CAN use the base ticket towards the cost of the discounted DVC AP renewal. You just need to do it through guest services.

We won't use all the days.......just not physically possible for DS who has special needs. He requires the down time. But we will be returning as often as possible now that he is out of school, so made sense to get tickets, to save for later, with a lower daily rate. I will check into the extra day (or two ;) )though, thanks !

I would look into buying the 10 day pass it really isn't going to cost that much more than 7 days.

That must be the reason. I was quoted $580 for 5 nights, 2 adults, 2 one-day tickets, free dining, standard room, no insurance. (We don't plan to use our tickets, we'll just use them to upgrade to better tickets later, or towards our AP renewal). The one day tickets are pretty expensive at $67 each, adding hopper option to each, makes them each over $100. wow

I have:
7 nights Contemporary Resort, 7 day hoppers w/ water park options and free dining for: $3348.73, I saved: $951.65!!
