Jillpie: Definately have them price it without the air, insurance, or transfers....very pricey. Especially since you have your airfare already! I think they were offering to charge me $350 for a ticket that is regularly $122! Also, Costco(for a $45 dollar membership fee if you aren't already a member) will take 10% off off the cruise fare with a verandah cabin. If you want
travel insurance, you can have them add that back in after you get your cruise only quotes, or you can purchase it for less, most likely, from your own insurance agent or from one of several travel insurers.
If your week wasn't one of the available times for a party of 5, look into 2 connecting category 10 rooms. We will have 2 split baths, more room, and some privacy for less than the cost of 1 category 4 room(although it was very close in price)
To get ideas of cost for 1 vs. 2 rooms, you can play around with room ideas on the
DCL website. They will charge the full fare for the first 2 people in a room. Children 13 and over are going to have to pay more than children under 13, so make sure your HS son is listed in a room with a parent(since the first and second in a room pay full fare anyway) then list the other parent with the 2 younger children in the second. Check no airfare needed, then get the quotes, select the cabin category, then on the next screen you can deselect transfers and insurance.(The amount I quickly checked in my last post even still had ins. and transfers included, so the actual would be a good bit less)
Let us know how it works out!
