if you had a dessert party after your reception, did you still have a cake for the reception? How did you handle that?

Is it possible to get a cake for cutting for the bride and groom for the reception then have a serving cake for the dessert party instead of the dessert party menus?

We had a cake at our reception. they cut and ate it there. Then we had the dessert party in Italy. It worked out fine. trust me, no need to worry about desserts not getting eaten. everyone at the dessert party ended up taking the extras home with them. We brought little ziplocks with us.

We had our cake at our afternoon reception, as well as bride/groom strawberries. We thought that cake and then a dessert party a couple of hours later might have been a bit much, sweet-wise. That's just us, though.

You don't have to choose one of those full menus full of desserts that they offer - you can mix and match, and use your imagination! We picked the Artisan Cheese options (with a chef to slice and explain the cheese), fruit skewers, chocolate shots (VERY popular) and a bar.

There were a selection of cookies that came with the chocolate shots, and there was bread, dried fruit and nuts that came with the cheese display.
