? for those who go to Am Girl Warehouse Sale

Thanks for the tip about looking close at the dolls. MY DD has Kaya, whom she received from a friend who found her at a garage sale!!! The hair is funky at the top as well, but my daughter doesn't care. I also paid full price for Kit and after a couple of months her one eye didn't open when you sit her up right, you have to flick it open. She doesn't seem to care either, but her friends always make such a big deal out of it, they drive me crazy!! So if something is a little off, she won't mind!

I wonder how the outfits are? Are they very damaged? I never know what seconds or returns really mean..........

Last year, by the time I got in on Sunday, most of the outfits they had left were missing pieces. Sometimes important pieces I thought. Like the top and everything else, but no bottoms. I don't know how it is on Saturday though. I think they're in good shape though.

I did buy a little suitcase full of shoes for $10. It had 4 pairs of doll shoes. Last year they also gave away a pair of doll shoes to each person at the checkout when you paid.

AG Hospital will fix eye defects for free (silver eye & retracted eyelashes), it may be worth a call to see if Kit's sticky eye would be included.

Our first Julie had a wonky eye. They sent out a new doll along with a shipping label to return the original doll.

I really want to get my DD an ag or a maplelea girl. The price is a bit crazy. Do AG last? Of corse I'd help with the hair until she is older.I was thinking of getting her Alexi from maplelea( they are almost like AG but the feet are a bit bigger and arms are a tad longer). I look at the price tag and faint!

One more question..............the final flyer came out today and it lists "Trunk" - $100.00 under most of the historical dolls. What is that exactly, does anybody know or can venture a good guess? Thanks!

It's probably the storage trunks that are specific to each historical doll. Check the American Girl website to get a look. Just pick a historical doll and look at their collection.

Oh yes, AG dolls do last. They are great quality IMO. I've known people who have had their dolls for over 10 years and they are still in great condition.

My DD really wants the AG suitcase that has a holder on the outside for her doll for our next WDW trip in Dec. I am nowhere near Wis. The one thime that living in Cali is a bad thing...
Any Chance someone here that is going would look for one?
She's been saving every penny for months and I just can't stand to think that she won't be able to get it because honestly, $92 for a suitcase is WAY out of our price range.
I'd be more than willing to pay for it with shipping! Thanks!

Xcited- I love that pic of your daughter. I love how you can see your daughter and the card-I never get shots lke that!

Middleton WI, just outside of Madison. It's held every year in July.

Hey - I lived in Middleton for a while after college (born & raised in NYS) - it's nice there! I worked at Cullen Daycare center in Madison.

I live in Texas no where near to the benefit. I really need to get two of the just like you dolls for my 2 DD's for :santa: Christmas. We are taking our family on our first vacation to WDW and we are saving everywhere we can. I am willing to pay the freight and packaging if someone would buy two of just like you dolls, with brunett hair and brown eyes. This would totally make there Christmas along with going to WDW for New years. I will pay you by paypal or how ever you want to. Please send me a PM and I will give you my address, phone.

Blessings

Check Ebay for the dolls after the sale, there are also quite a few listed. I know several people who go just to get things to sell on Ebay.

Wow - I never knew AG had a warehouse sale in WI. Unfortunately, CT is a long drive to WI for any kind of sale. :rotfl:

My DD loves AG dolls as well, and it all started when I took her to an AG Fashion Show 3 years ago. They are very sturdy and last a long time.

As for discounts on clothing and trunks - check ebay for trunks. I got a trunk (it's not AG, but it's the same basic idea) that is beautiful, I got it for $40 including shipping!

Also, if you have an AC Moore or Michaels' Crafts near you, they sell clothes for an 18" doll for aobut $10 per outfit....often including shoes! They aren't for the historical dolls of course, but are great "today" styles. And, with a 40% coupon, you can't go wrong!

On a "toot your own horn" note....I just won the Kit & Ruthie AG dolls from Barnes & Noble last week!!! DD will have a great Christmas with those under the tree....yes, I am going to try to hold onto them until then!!! ;)

Had the crazy idea this morning I would call my mom and see if she wanted to go a on a road trip to the sale- get some things for DD & for DN for Christmas.... that is until I did a Mapquest and saw how long it'd take us! Estimated Time: 7.0 hours 47 minutes Estimated Distance: 462.80 miles

Oh well, hope those of you that can go will have a great time and find some awesome deals!!

I've had to return a couple of outfits to AG. They both looked perfect, but on one the wrists were too tight to snap closed and the other one had the same problem but with the neck. Not a huge deal, but at AG prices I expect them to actually fit the doll! I'm guessing you might see some of those types of issues.

And speaking of eyes... we have a Bitty Baby with two different color eyes. I keep forgetting to take her when we go to AG place - I really need to do that one day.
