Hi guys,

We will be driving down to WDW on August 5th. Usually when we drive we stop along I-95 around Savannah or Jacksonville to spend the night as we usually leave after work on Friday. Well, we are looking at doing the same this year, but since our kids are older (15,14, and 11) we were thinking of driving all the way to disney or at least Orlando and staying the night somewhere.

We did this a few years ago and did kind of the same thing but not intentionally. We were going to stay around Jacksonville - Daytona but since we went in March and it was Daytona Bike week we could not find a room right off of I-95 so we drove all the way to WL and they actually let us in our assigned room about 2 am for nothing!! We just did not have a key - the CM told us to go down in the morning and check in as if we just arrived. It worked fine - I wish I had been awake enough to get his name!!

I know this was a once in a lifetime thing - so I would kind of like to plan a little more ahead and have a hotel to stay in that night - any suggestions??? What do most of you guys from NC do?

We leave Greensboro at 2:00am and drive straight through. No traffic. We usually stop at a Cracker Barrel around 6:00 or 7:00am. We get to WDW around 1:00 or 2:00pm and are rooms are usually ready. My husband then sleeps until 5:00 or 6:00 and is ready to go out for the evening.
