I have gone with and without.

Both times were great. It's almost impossible not to have a great trip at Disney!

But that said, using TGM I saw more and felt more relaxed than ever. I actually saw all of Fantasyland in the time it used to take to see one ride. I didn't stress out about making it to one attraction after another. I had piece of mind knowing that I was making informed decisions about my trip.

So while I prefer to use TGM, of course I have had a great trip without (and so can you!)

On our first few trips we did not have TGM and they were still great trips. I did buy several different guide books for each trip. Once TGM became available I started using it and love it. Now I update my Passporter and TGM each year and those are the two main guidebooks that I plan my trip from (and of course the DIS boards ). This works best for us. I LOVE TGM!!

Of course I had a great time when I went without him. That is what makes us Disney Addicts. We love Disney even when all we can do is walk around in the parks. However, once I did the parks using TGM I realized how much more I could do, and how much more fun I could have. You response options for your poll aren't really making it a fair poll. Any of us can see we had a great trip regardless of using TGM or not.

Dana, please note the post title. For those who have NOT used TGM. What is unfair is TGM users answering in the poll.


No offense, but I made the poll for myself. I think I get to decide the response options based on the information I'm attempting to glean from the poll. In my case, what trips are like for those who skip TGM altogether. I've heard plenty from TGM fans. Now I want to hear about those who don't use it.

I didn't put those options because there is a poll for people who HAVE used TGM up right now. Bottom line, what I wanted to hear specifically from people who NEVER used TGM. I've heard a LOT from people who have, but I wanted a poll to get answers from people who have NOT.

I specifically wanted responses from this group because I wanted to see if I got the sense that people who don't use it still see everything and have fun, or if there really are those who feel like they should have gone with it.

The poll for those who have subscribed before does give me a sense of those who have used it and learned a bit.

Sorry, but this frustration is carrying over from another TGM thread. It is really hard to try to get a balanced opinion on the subject. I'm getting TGM cheers left and right, which is why I created the poll in the first place.

I actually had someone suggest that if we dont' use TGM, we just won't have a a great trip. It's frustrating. I just need to hear from the non TGM users, that's all.

You can definately enjoy your trip and have a great time without TGM. Whoever said that is a bit out of line. Millions of people go every year without using TGM and have the vacation of a lifetime. Don't let anyone who says something like that get to you. The only point I was trying to make is that although I had a great time without using his site ... I have been able to see, do, and enjoy so much more thanks to his advice. I hope I didn't upset you.

LOL, before I tell you, have you ever been to WDW and had a great time and done everything you wanted to do?

Kidding. It's a trip planner. Actually, I think it is just trip tips and not an actual itinerary. Or maybe there are itineraries, but from what several posters said it sounds like there are not? TGM users are not allowed to share information on what they receive vs. what you can find on the DIS becuase of a user agreement I think.

It appears to be a subject best avoided. There doesn't appear to be a way to keep TGM threads calm.

A vacation is what people make of it no matter how they go about preparing for it.

Actually there are iteneraries for each of the parks. They are sample iteneraries, and honestly pretty darn good ones. What his site doesn't do is ask what you want to experience and then plan the itenerary for you. He is in the parks every day as http://www.michaelsvips.com/index.htm, and because of that has first hand experience on what is going on with the crowds in the parks. He is able to tell you the least crowded parks for each day of the week.
