For those who bought a real Christmas tree...

Thanks for the watering reminder. I watered ours last night and I just checked it-there's almost no water left in the stand. :confused3

We also bought a little 3 foot tree for DD's bedroom. She really wanted one and she decorated it all herself. It looks really cute!

Douglas fir about 30 bucks at Lowes. We looked at home depot first but I remembered reading somewhere (probably the DIS) that sometimes cut trees are painted - and lo and behold the tress at Home Depot had green trunks.

we actually went today and cut our own tree. got a really goodlooking fir for $80. It was a lot of fun though and worth the extra money

I'm confused, I always thought it was cheaper to cut down your own tree because you're doing the work for them :confused3

We cut down a beautiful Frasier Fir for $35.

wellllllllllllllll if you must know... we pay nothing!!!
Oh the benefits of having Grandparents who own a Tree farm...

Free. We cut it down from the woods behind our house. I don't know what kind it is, but it's about seven feet tall and really pretty!

:cool1: we went out last week and cut down a tree at one of the local tree farms it was 29.00

Wow,I can't believe the prices! The 2 cut your own farms in our area are $20 and $17. The Lions club has a stand and they are priced $25 and up. There is a nursery near me with cut trees but I'm not sure of the price.

We cut ours down yesteray and it was $7 per foot no matter what kind of tree. Ours came out to $49.

Technically we paid less than $1. Every spring the State of NH offers bulk trees. About 10 years ago DH bought 100 evergreens (not sure what kind??) and for about 4 years now we have been harvesting our own trees from the backyard! It is so much fun! Some years they are more beautiful than others, but this year's is a dandy! Over 7 ft tall (had to lop the top off, as it couldn't stand up!) and couldn't be fresher!!

FYI, the average tree around here (precut) is about $35.... can get them as low as $25 if you search.... and you can spend WAAAAY more also...........P

We spent about $50 for a 7-8 ft fir. Not sure which kind...I forgot. We always get a real tree.

We got an 8ft Nobel for $50. It's from one of those christmas tree farms where you cut it down your self.

Balsam fir this year, almost 8 feet tall after we cut if down, for $34.

Hunt and cut...I gotta remember that one!

Wonder why it's so ridiculously expensive down here compared to ya'll??? For $30 here you'd literally get Charlie Brown's tree.

Full and nice looking 7 foot fir for $25. DH cut it, DS dragged it. :teeth:
