for those who booked with orbitz..

I booked a package and save 370 dollars. Also, in your email, your confirmation code will be extremely small but will be listed underneath the resort name. I don't know yet if I have linked the tickets or not. MDE is showing me having tickets but those may be the original ones on the package I haven't cancelled yet. I have read that it can take three days before you get your tickets confirmation number. On my email it says that my tickets are pending.
It is not possible to book a Disney package through Orbitz. Room-only is the only option.

I believe Orbitz sells Disney tickets as well, but they are two separate transactions as far as Disney is concerned.

I saw tickets as an option, does anyone know if the ticket prices on Orbitz are cheaper/the same/more expensive?

Based on previous threads- Orbitz has sales on tickets at certain times. Always worth comparing.

I would be surprised if their tickets were ever more expensive than Disney. But I can't back that up with 100% certainty.

They are within a couple dollars of some places like The Official Ticket Center, but others are offering a "4 day-get one day free" ticket which is a much better deal. And Undercovertourist through Mousesavers is cheaper yet. :thumbsup2

How does Magical Express work? I linked the Orbitz # to MDE and its fine. I called Disney to give our flight info, but they said I had to call Orbitz. Is that necessary? Won't I receive tags anyway?

Fill out the form at Disneymagicalexpress.com - you won't receive any DME stuff if you don't sign up for it, regardless if it's linked to MDE. Since you didn't book directly with a Disney, they consider it a third party booking. Issues and things will need to go through the third party.

Another Orbitz question...if I book thru orbitz it sounds like I should be able to link my resort reservation to My Disney Experience, is that correct? Then as long as I buy tickets (maybe thru official ticket center) and link them to MDE, I should have all the same benefits as a no site guest booking thru Disney? (Mainly concerned about booking fastpass+ at 60 days and using/setting up Disney Magical Express.) I have a magic band that I think I can use from a previous trip...just need to figure out how to link that too. I don't think you can book the dining plan thru Disney if you book room thru orbitz? Wanted to pay out of pocket anyways as we find it might cost less. Thanks all!

The short answer: yes, yes, yes :) But, no dining plan possible, as you speculated.

You can book FP+ at 60 days out. Disney will send you new magic bands, but your old ones are still active.

Thank you so much! Now if I can convince DH to go on a parents only trip to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Mouseketeer #4. We just returned from Disney 2 weeks ago and our whole family had a blast. This week we learned about Mouseketeer #4. ;)

Thanks. DH is self employed so cash flow can be hard to predict. I need to work on the next years cash flow forecast then maybe that can convince him. ;)

Bummer...just completed the cash flow forecast for us and there is not as much cushion as I had hoped. Oh well, I don't think Disney is going anywhere. ;)
Hopefully we can make a family trip in May or Sep 2016!

Happy travels to all of you!
