Hi all--

Right now plans are for the 10 of us to have breakfast at Crystal Palace at MK on the morning of December 4, 2004. My plan is to try for the first PS of the day.

Now, I know last year, they were filming parts of the Xmas parade in MK that day.

My question is: was it a pain to get around the park?

We have no interest in lining Main Street to watch the parade. This just happens to be the day that will work out best for MK. We thought to try for the first PS and then hit the rides and shows right at "opening".

Is this a not-so-good idea? Any tips from those who were at the park that day, specifically first thing in the AM?

Looking to make it positive for the 5 people who haven't been to WDW in the last 10 years.

I arrived at MK around 10am and although they were filming (not continuously, though), you were able to get up Main Street. They had walkways roped off similar to the parades. The rest of the park was "business as usual".

If you get the first PS of the day, the park won't even be opened yet, so you'll have no problems getting to the castle.

I hope this answers your questions - I'm sure others will also offer opinions! :teeth:

HI,
We were there and I recall it was very crowded. You can get around but its a Sat. and I think its usually busy and we were not there first thing in am so you may get lucky. It was most crowded around the parade by the castle and main street. Its a very cool thing to watch though. Have fun. Lori

We were there the first Sat of the year before and they were filming the parade. We had an early seating for CRT but not before gates opened. Getting in was easy--we were surprised by how easy--but getting out was a nightmare! We were obviously headed the WRONG way, but didn't want to deal with the crowds anymore. Ended up walking back to our car because a tram with the "right" color never came.

So. going in, no problem, coming out or staying--yikes! Although, several people posted about that same day and said what a great time they had. I am a no crowds kind of a girl though and it didn't work for me.

I can't help you with your question since we're (me, my 4yo, my sister and my 81yo mother--her first WDW trip) not planning to arrive at WDW until the next day, but while you're there you can since Happy Birthday to me... :teeth: My birthday present to myself is this trip with my mom, but I want to be home to celebrate my birthday with my DH and my kids (actually, I'd rather be at WDW for my birthday, but how do I tell that to my DH LOL).

It was very crowded but you could get down Main Street. I would suggest getting out as soon as possible if you don't want to deal with the crowds.
