At our public school, attendance is taken at 9am, and that is what all funding is based on. So if a child attends until 9:01, then leaves, they are "present" on paper and for attendance awards, etc. However if they don't arrive at school until after 9am, they are welcome to join the classroom but they are "absent." I would vote for you to just leave school early in order to make a flight. Check with the school for their attendance policy. Good luck!

You all are lucky that only have to be at school for a little bit to be counted as there that day! Here its done hourly. If you're picked up early, every hour counts against you. As far as the school getting it's funding, they have to be there for at least 1/2 the day for the school to get the money. But those are 2 different things.
