First cruiser here. I have read that you can stack up or save your pictures that the photographers have taken of your family behind each other to decide at the end of the cruise (we're on 4 day). Well, have you ever experienced the CM's taking them all away to make room for new ones to display and then you don't have any to choose from at the end of the cruise? Would a better thing to do is give the ones that you are undecided about to the CM at the desk and have them save it for you in a folder or something?

I stacked all my pictures and didn't have any problems with them being discarded. The CM's probably know that people save their pics in this manner and won't get rid of them. But you never know, if there are pictures that you can't live without, you better buy them as soon as you see them, just in case.......

We have never stacked the pics until the last day.

We always go through them, dispose of the bad and purchase the ones we want. Castmember told us..if we find better later in the week, we can exchange the ones we have for the new ones if we want..not a problem at all. We always get the package, somehow it always works out just perfectly..lol.

I'll second what wdwmom2 is trying to say.

When you stack your pictures up, you are already making more room for other pictures. Surely the photographers realize people are doing this and are not going to toss an entire stack of pictures just to make room for one more.

I have stacked our pictures and might find them moved, but always together.
When the CM take them down they do not dicard them during the cruise. They keep them in storage bins that you can look through if need be.

I've created a stack twice and never had a problem. I went to Shutters everyday checked out the new pictures, discarded what I knew I wouldn't want and stacked all the others in one pile. The pile was moved everyday but always kept together. I guess I was taking a chance but I didn't have a problem with the CM's throwing away any pictures.

We stacked pics-went through them everyday and discarded the bad. They don't have room to save them at the desk and we were told that they will only exchange a certain number--3??--if you find ones you like better. The pics were moved, but always together. If you stack, they know they will have a sale. (That's what a CM told us.)

Ditto!! We did the same exact thing. Worked out great.

Thank you everyone. It is much clearer now. When you say you discarded them, do you literally throw them in the trash or what?

They have a receptacle w/ a slit big enough to drop the photos in. Or you can just leave the pics and they will discard at end of cruise..but if you don't want to be confused and sure you don't want certain pics, you can just discard them in the receptacle.

I have lost pics by stacking. It was very crowded on our cruise and we never recovered some of our favorites. I will buy them earlier in the week now.

Another stacker here:teeth:

Never had a problem with any pictures missing when I found the stack back again!!

One tip is to stack them behind the most recent photo--they tend to move the ones from earliest in the cruise (embarkation, etc.) because (I am assuming here) if you wanted one you would have bought it--so if it is Wednesday, if you stack behind a Tuesday night picture it is less likely to be moved because it is more recent.
Jeez I hope that makes sense!

Wow! I never thought about doing this! And this will be our 5th cruise! I just learned something new! I am going to try this on our upcoming cruise.

Thanks for the tip!

Robin, that makes perfect sense. Thanks for that fantastic, valuable tip!:D

does each cabin have its own bin-i mean when you go to look-how do you know where yours are and then when you stack-where do you put them?
thanks

Each cabin doesn't have their own bin, you just have to look for them. But each different background has their own area. So if, for example, you are looking for a pic taken at Triton's, there is a wall area dedicated for those pictures. You just have to look. HTH.

They are in bins according to when and where taken, /e.g. Tues character breakfast, or embarkation photos. Better to stack them than to go through all tose photos.

Nope...but that's a great idea, isn't it?? All week I kept saying "there's gotta be a better way!!!" you can search for a long time before finding your pic...and Shutters on Thursday and Friday night is totally NUTS, jam packed. I wish DCL would come up with a better system.
