and why? We are going to be staying there next week for 4 nights after staying at BLT for 4 nights. We won't have a car so we will be relying on buses. We loved GS for the bus stops...first on, first off. We liked Congress Park our first trip for close proximity to DTD. Is the new pool area nice at the Paddocks? Thanks!!!

Very much enjoyed the Paddock pool! Had no problems getting a seat by the pool at all. Wasn't crazy about the walk from Congress Park though, but I wasn't crazy about Congress Park either. I probably would have been happier had I not spent all of those points on a GV and hand a beautiful view of a tree, but that's another story. Next time we stay there I'm going to try for the Springs again just to be close to both of the theme pools and the Community Center for my kids.

Well I was going to say Congress Park cause that is our favorite area, close to DTD and we love the view of the waterway!! But we also love Grandstand, stayed in that area quite a few times and liked that as well, we really dont mind the walk..The resort does have beautiful grounds now that its grown in some! The new pool is nice, here are some pics, (not mine but found them on the web)http://http://allears.net/acc/g_PaddockPoolSaratogaSprings.html

Is the Paddock section the 2nd stop on the bus route? I can't remember.

Is the Springs close to the new pool? Isn't the Springs the last on the bus stop?

Have only stayed in the Springs area and we loved it. Close to High Rocks pool (and drink refill station), Artists Palette, Turf club, Arcade, Spa, Main Bus stop, and Boat dock to DTD.

We never had problems with the bus being full, but I could see that during a busy time that Grandstand would be better if depending on Busses. I'd definitely recommend the Springs area.

Bus stops are Grand Stand, Carousel, Paddocks, Congress Park, and then Springs. We stayed in CP 2 weeks ago in a reconditioned room with DTD view. Quiet and scenic - we enjoyed it. I think next time I would try the Springs because of the access to High Rocks and Paddock pools. So while I don't know if it's my favorite, it's my next request!
Have a fab time!

We love the Grandstand section the best. It has it's own quiet pool, short walk to High Rock Pool, Artist Palette and Community Center, has a golf couse view and first on and off for the bus.

Stayed at Congress Park with DDs 18 and 22 in March. Loved that the bus stop was right next to our builiding and we could walk to DTD.

I like Congress Park because I think the view of DTD is beautiful at night. I even like seeing it from the pool, and the busses were convenient for us when we stayed there.

We've only stayed in the Grandstand area, but are trying Congress Park next trip, just for a change.

A lot of you mentioned the Grandstand and it's quiet pool - we loved that.

I assume that Congress Park has a quiet pool also. Can someone confirm or deny that?

Thanks guys,
Kathy

Yes, Congress Park also has a quiet pool, with a view of DTD! It's our favorite area of SSR, close enough to walk back from DTD, short walk to main pool, Artist Palette and more importantly the Turf Club Restaurant (stuffed mushrooms & prime rib, yum).

I've requested Congress Park, DTD view 3 times and have gotten it all 3 times, I hope my luck holds out!

Good luck on your trip requests!

Congress park does have a very nice pool, hot tub, grill area, and I think playground area.

We stayed at SSR back in February. At that time the Grandstand area was too quiet (nobody there for my kids to play with) and the Springs was "open". The bar, the drink station, the pool (the hot tub, the movies )was somewhat busy at the High Rock pool. We were in the farther part of the Grandstand and walked a few times over to the gift shop/area. We moved to BLT and then back to SSR this time in the Springs section. I much prefer the closeness of the Springs to all the main buidings and although I had a car, I'd walk over to the GS bus before I'd stay in GS again. (If I needed the bus).

Just checked out of the Springs an hour ago. We almost always close the Springs for close proximity to the main pool, food, etc. But what was most awesome this time was that the location of our villa was truly equally close to both the main pool and the new Paddock pool. This was a HUGE bonus! Both pools right close by! But we spend a TON of time at the resorts and pools...definitely not in parks all day. So it is important to us to be close to the pool.
