For those that have driven from Texas to Orlando...

Where is a good stopping point for the first day? We'll leave early 6 am (3 different households have to get together, don't see it happening any earlier!) and drive all day. All day means stopping sometime around 6 pm. Do any of you have similar experience and where did you stop at the end of your first day? I'd like the second day to be easier (less driving) as we hope to go to the parades and stuff in Old Town that night.

Or.....if you've got a better suggestion, feel free to throw it at me, too!

From where in Texas? Lot of difference between El Paso and Beaumont

We leave from Houston and stop in Crestview, FL. About 10-11 hours (572 miles). We like to do most of the driving the first day.

Anyway, leaving from DFW will head out on I-20.
