...for those that have done the QSDP

Yes, it is true, and you can use child credits to get adult meals. There are quite a few CS that doesn't offer kids meals as well, so your only choice is to get them an adult meal. One of our favorites, is the Refreshment Port next to Canada in Epcot. Really big fried shrimp baskets with a HUGE sundae for dessert. We Love the QS plan, this plan is Perfect for our family!:cool1:

In Germany they don't offer a child selection either, but they do have a frankfurter. To me, that is a child's meal, but it doesn't come with all the child sides. We were not questioned once about using 3 adult credits at one time. Who are they to say that you didn't order your child a meal at another stand and they aren't eating a child's meal. One night my DH did order 2 adult meals b/c he couldn't decide what he wanted. He actually ended up eating both! :scared1: So in that case, we truly did order 3 adult meals for 2 adults and ordered a child's meal for my DS also. They didn't care that we used 4 credits at one time.

We learned about it from a cast member. We asked about how do we know how many adult and kids credits we had left when the receipt didn't show. We were keeping to their rules, but didn't know how to keep track when it didn't say. They informed us that they only keep track on the other dining plan. Do I think Disney will eventually fix it, yes. Eventually they will change their system to keep track, but right now they aren't and the CMs will even tell you that.

We have gone the past 2 years when my son was 8 and 9 yrs old (so he was on the kids QSDP) we did not order him one kids meal the entire trip for both weeks and the CMs never questioned us or asked about it one time. There were 3 of us including my DH and me and me DS and it said 2 adults and 1 childs QSDP on all of our cards but he always ordered the adult ones.
So... kids can order adult meals and not get questioned at all or maybe we were just lucky!!

Now this year we are buying him the adult meal plan since he is now 10 yrs old. :rolleyes1

We did the QSDP last year and love it. WE loved it so much we added to our trip at POFQ this year. WE will do 2 ts meals one being t-rex. The other either Garden Grill or Crystal Palace.

We're planning on doing it this year. Years past we have always done the regular dining plan but I'm tired of being tied down every night for an ADR plus add in the tips for each of those sit down meals and it's a quite a difference. I promised DH one or two TS during our trip and that seemed to satisfy him. More $$$ to shop:cool1:

Did the QSDP 3 weeks ago after doing the regular DDP 3 times before. We loved it and found that it was more food than the DDP. We had multiple snack credits at the end of the week that we used on brownies and drinks for the ride home. Like a previous poster stated, use snack credits for breakfast if you eat at the resort, because with the mug, it's a waste of a meal credit. I even paid oop for a 2 breakfasts. I'd rather spend $6 than spend a meal credit when I already have a drink and don't get dessert. I had 2 burgers that week. I know that there is a misconception that all you get are burgers. Not so if you do your homework before going. We ate at WPE for breakfast and dinner. We ate at Mexico, UK, and Morocco in Epcot. We also ate at Earl of Sandwich and Cookes of Dublin in DD. I can't remember every place that we ate, but there are a lot of choices on the QSDP. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

My family did the QSDP and found the quantity ample. My complaint is that there is not a lot of variation on the menu. We all got mighty sick of burgers and fries and the same old desserts. Sunshine Seasons give you some relief, but really, in the my opinion, it is a dull way to eat. One other side note, if you vacation in the summer QS dining may not get you the air conditioning that you may want/need. It is all according to where you eat.
As a side note, I WOULD do QS again for a short trip, but not for a week or longer.
