Beer Boxes Live Again As 'Beer Hats'

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- What's beer without a good head -- or a good hat? Science teacher Pete Montana is turning cardboard beer boxes into cowboy hats.

He and his wife Cyndy have created beer-hats.com to sell them.

Montana says he got the idea two years ago while at a country music concert. They started making a few dozen hats and now churn them out by the hundreds.

The Buffalo, N.Y.- area couple sell the beer hats for about $25 each.

They even have a contract with Coors, which is using the beer hats to promote events across the country. The couple also has hats in a variety of brands, including Labatts, Molsons and Miller.

Their Web site says you can now, "Wear beer that goes to your head."

Just one more plug for Buffalo. That's all we do here, drink beer (so much so that we have lots of empty cartons to make hats with) and eat wings.
