We LOVE sailing DCL, but next summer my sister and I are trying to coordinate a cruise for her family, my family, and our parents. DCL isn't in everyone's budgets (and she has the mindset that she has grown boys and are past their Disney days). We have sailed Carnival before and though it's not Disney, I'm fine to sail it for this occasion.

That said - I'm kind of lost on planning and I get a huge portion of my DCL/WDW information from disboards. Is there anything equivalent for the other cruiselines?

I recently traveled to Hawaii. I joined a social media page for both Aulani, and the ship that I was sailing on (NCL Pride of America) and learned a ton from there.

I would go on one of the oasis class ships on RCCL, they have lots to do for all groups, shows in the aqua theater are pretty good, food is a lot better than DCL if you eat in specialty restaurants (kids are allowed). The attention to detail and theming of DCL is missing, but the price point is a lot better for those who can't afford DCL and the overall experience is excellent. Princess is great as well, but skewed more towards adults. I haven't been on one of the newer NCL ships so can't comment, but the older ships didn't have much to do...also, every time I look NCL pricing on the newer ships is pretty close to DCL pricing. I would skip Carnival - the quality of the product is much lower than DCL/RCCL/Princess/NCL.

Cruise critic gives you alot of great info. We did RCCL both Allure and Harmony with family. Thought Harmony was almost equal to DCL. Alot more fun for older children and those in their teens.
