I was very nervous about seeing the movie, but I felt I needed to see it. I will not watch gory, bloody, violent movies; I prefer the lighthearted romantic comedies. So, I was worried about how I would handle this movie. I am very glad I went to see that movie. It was very moving and to me it was inspirational in the sense of not wanting to waste my life, since my Lord gave so much for me. I was very humbled by what he endured for our sins.

Go see it, you won't be sorry.

I haven't seen it yet but DH and I will probably go within the next few weeks. I believe it is an important movie.

The question I have is how far does the movie go. Does it end at the resurrection? Does the movie also get into Christ's teachings and salvation? Just wondering. In other words does it also tell the Good News that follows the Bad News.

I think it's wonderful that this movie is touching so many.

I too hope people of every faith (or none) will go see this movie. A truly moving experience.

lanshark,

Yes it does end with the Resurrection.

There are flashbacks of different parts of Jesus' life throughout the movie, where some of his teachings are touched upon.

The prevelant theme however is that he was going through what he was for every single person. The Romans, the Jewish people and High Priests, and the criminals.

No one is excluded from the gift of his sacrifice.

I've been debating with myself as to whether I will ever see this movie or not for the same reasons. I'm just not sure I can handle it very well. When it comes out on video I know our Bible Study group will be wanting to watch it together.

I want to see it, but I am just not sure that I am emotionally ready to see it.

I know I'm not emotionally ready. Not with everything else going on in my life right now. I'm assuming it's going to come out on video, and plan to see it then. That way the blood/gore/etc are decreased in intensity to a level I can handle, and I've had more time to heal emotionally so maybe I'll be ready for it.

My husband and I saw it this past weekend.. It was well done, even with subtitles, you were spellbound through the whole thing.. I think particularly the scenes between Mary and Jesus were so poignant, and moved me to tears many times.. I do not like violence, that was difficult, but I did make it through.

i will see the movie, but I'll wait till it comes out on DVD. There's only so much i can take in the dark. Besides. the movie houses around here really aren't great anyway. So I'm hoping it doesn't take too long for it to come out. I'm very glad that it is doing so well in Box Office returns though. I do remeber reading that Mel wound up distributing the movie himself, because no one in Hollywood wanted to touch it. Better for him that htey didn't i think.
