When you received your confirmation letter was there anything on there about your anniversary.

I made ressies for August 2002 and mentioned that we would be celebrating our 30th anniversary our second day down there and asked for suggestions for a nice dinner. He gave me a list of nice restaurants and congratulated me.

When I receive my confirmation letter everything was OK, but no mention about the anniversary.

Just wondering.

Thanks.:)

We are going to WDW in October for our 35th wedding aniversary celebration. I mentioned it when making our reservations & there this nothing on our confirmation sheet about it. A few years ago we went on the Land & Sea Disney Cruise, I mentioned that it was for our Anniversary when making the reservations - there was no mention of it on any of the information that we receive for the cruise - BUT - when we checked into the hotel - they said about it being our anniversary & gave us a coupon for their lounge - was a nice surprise!!!!
Have a Great Trip

I made our ressies more then 8 months before our anniversary trip. When I booked they asked me if we were celebrating a special occassion and I said yes, our anniversary. It was never mentioned on any other call and it never appeard on our conf. letter. When we arrived I never even thought about it, until we started getting all these special treats. Then I remembered my conversation way back when.

Once, my wife casually mentioned our vacation was going to be "like a second honeymoon" when making reservations and never gave it a second thought, just caught up in the excitement.

Nothing was ever mentioned in any of our reservation documents, at least that caught our attention, since we hadn't been expecting anything. However, once there, we were pleasantly surprised at the special touches. It actually cought us by surprise and took my wife some time before she remembered her comment with CRO.

It isn't put on the confirmation. Depending on where you are staying, you might not get anything special done for you at all. Please don't expect anything, or you might be very let down. But you might also be pelasantly suprised.

When I made reservations for our 25th anniversary trip the CM asked if we were celebrating anything and I told her that we were taking our first vacation without children to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. After a few weeks when I had not received the confirmation in the mail I phoned to make sure that the reservation was secure. I explained to the CM that I was worried because I didn't want anything to ruin our trip. He said that there was no mention on our reservation about it being our 25th anniversary but he would add it now as the resort would probably do something nice for us. Our vacation came and went without anyone at WDW making any mention of it. The night of our anniversary we went to California Grill and I told the CM that we were celebrating it and that we would like a window seat. When we were called to be seated we did not get a window seat and there was no mention of us celebrating anything. So don't plan on being recognized in any way, that way you won't be disappointed!

Thanks for all the replies. The CM and I had a very long convesation when I made the ressies. It turned out that we had a lot in common with both of us having kids 13 years apart and being married 30 and 30+ years. I think our call lasted about 30 minutes with him telling me all about his kids and me talking about mine while he worked on the computer. We were having such a good time talking it was hard to hang up.

I told him that we have missed a space shuttle going up or landing on all our previous vacations and possibly this one too and he said that he lives in Tampa and saw the one in December go up while he was at Church for a Christmas pageant. He wished me luck that they would reschedule for during our vacation.

I am not getting my hopes up any higher for that than I am for any special treatment from Disney. I have a Courtyard View reserved at WL for 5 nights at the AP rate. I wanted that view and am willing to pay for it rather than take a chance that someone will give me something. We had the Courtyard View 2 years ago and just loved it.

I'm just happy I'm going to Disney. The girls at work just don't understand where I'm coming from when I talk about the DIS and all the reading I am doing to prepare myself. They think it will just make it less exciting when I get there. I do have a few customers who understand though and I have been giving out the .com for the DIS to them.

After reading this thread I decided it might be worth it to call CRO and ask them to put on our reservation that it was an anniversary trip. The woman I spoke with was puzzled by my request and said that normally people don't request this. She said that usually if it is mentioned when making your reservation, the rep may note it on the ressie. They don't tell you that they've done it because they can't guarantee it will be acknowledged. She did note it on my reservation for me. I don't expect anything but what the heck! It's worth a shot.

I thinks it depends on the CM you talked to. I mentioned our annivesary when booking CSR. I figured 'why not, let's see what happens'. When we checked in to the resort there was an envelope waiting at the front desk for us. It was a anniversary card and a coupon for a free champagne toast for us at the lounge. We went to our room and while we were settling in there was a knock on the door. A CM had 3 balloons and a signed picture of Mickey and Minnie saying congrats to us. I am not sure which CM did this, the one on the phone or the front desk but it sure made our trip alittle more enjoyable. It was not alot just nice to see that they were paying attention.

It is all so random-- when I went, it was both my daughter's birthday and my anniversary, which I didn't tell the BWV, but the owner I rented points from sent us something nice, and must have told Disney about us because the hotel then sent a balloon and a signed Cinderella picture and a lanyard for the kid and a picture frame for us. Nice! And surprising! I did, however, tell California Grill-- I was mostly hoping for a window table. We didn't get a window table, or even a "Happy Anniversary". No big deal, I didn't expect it. Sometimes I think stuff like that comes down to whether the cms have time on their hands to do a little magic. The BWV was pretty slow that week.

I all depends on the cast member you get when you call and the frot desk cm's when you check in. Its totally hit or miss. We go every May for our anniversary/birthday - the only resorts to ever do anything were Port Orleans FQ - we got a huge basket of gifts (but that was the year we had our wedding at WDW) and then when we moved to the WL honeymoon room - they sent up a fruit basket and bottle of cuvee.

Going back since then - it has been the restaurants that have treated us - a special birthday desert at California Grill and comp champagne at Artist Point. DH has usually ended up mentioning it in conversation when he books PS.

Try to keep in mind that on a particular day hundreds of people may be mentioning it is a special occasion and since Disney does not do any type of verification - it ends up being kind of random on how the CM feels that day taking your information and then how the people at the resort/restaurant feel when they see the note (if there is one).

While it may be for different reasons - people always request the same things! I do think the CM's do what they can though!

My parents mentioned that it was their anniversary and there was a bottle of champagne given to them. They stayed at the WLR. When my husband and I went on our honeymoon to CBR they upgraded our room to a King bed. We also received a free cake from Victoria & Albert's when we dined there. Definitely mention it to your waiter/waitresses at every restaurant. Most will make a little fuss. It makes you feel special.

It amazes me how much Disney does for special occassions. Just think how many people go to Disney for a special occassion. Even if you're not there on that specific occassion, you are probably celebrating something. We were there May 2000 for a week leaving June 1. DS's b-day is June 3, so we were celebrating it early. My friends went to celebrate their anniversary, but didn't want to travel in August when it was really their anniversary, so they went in Nov. and still got special treatment. I'm not saying these people don't deserve a special treat, it just must be overwhelming for Disney to keep up with all the celebrating. Then add the number of people that lie, just to see what they can get, especially if you want something really hard to get like a seat at Cindy's or a window seat at California Grill.

Please, believe me, I'm not trying to say the previous poster lied, on the contrary, I'm sure you really were celebrating something special, but I'm wondering if so many people lie about something like that, that it ruins it for those that really are celebrating something.

Regardless, I'm just always so impressed with Disney anytime they come up with something extra. It makes me not feel so bad when I think about how much it costs to visit. Too many people forget all e little extras.
