Do you walk for a particular distance (ie. 3 miles/day) or for a set time (ie. 45 minutes/day)?
). My Mom usually goes with me and it's her exercise for the day. We like to see how fast we can do it in some days without jogging or anything like that (it varies from 45 minutes to an hour).
When I'm unable to go to the gym and use the elliptical, I'll walk about a total of three miles round-trip. I'm one of those that has an issue with structure, at least with my health 
I usually do 40 minutes. I'd love to do more, but at this point, it's all I can fit into the schedule.
I always go for a certain length. I do 2 1/2 miles, twice a day. If I'd tell myself that I have to walk for a certain amount of time; I'm sure I'd skimp out on the walk, and just not go as fast.
