Just wanted to let you know that the free movie and meal deal that is advertised is nonvalid. I tried to use it last night and they said that it is not suppose to be a free deal, just an advertisement. For those of you that have the book you know how misleading it looks. Just an FYI.

Thanks for the heads-up. I noticed that "coupon" and wondered about it.

Really?!? I would have raised holy heck over it. The coupon clearly states "coupon" right on the back and has the rules for redeeming it! There is no way it's "just an ad."

It's possible they've decided not to honor it, but it was clearly intended as a coupon. Who exactly turned it down? Did you try using it at one of the listed restaurants?

Probably won't matter that much.
Since the Entertainment book can't get the great deal with the onsite hotels, many will not renew for next year.
The car rental coupons need a lawyer to intrepret.
The restaurant coupons work, but I feel cheap when I use them, and sometimes it takes some explaining before they are accepted.

I was told to redeem it over at the place you buy the meal and deal vouchers at. It was at that window. They told me that it was just adverstising and not an actual coupon. I looked at it again yesterday and was thinking the same thing. It says right on the back that it is a coupon. I may try it again.

I was just looking at the coupon again and it says to redeem it at the listed restaurants: "This Meal and Movie Pass may be redeemed at any of the following CityWalk Restaurants..."

I can't see any way they could argue it's not valid for a Meal & Movie Pass. Universal doesn't have a leg to stand on, IMHO...

I'll definitely be monitoring this thread to see what others are experiencing.

Ok. I am going to go back down there this weekend and try it again and get a name of the person I speak to. Thanks for taking interest. I love reading your newletters! :wave2:

Try redeeming it at one of the restaurants listed and not at the booth. It should work.

I just got the book last night and then saw this thread this morning. When I saw the coupon last night I thought, "It doesn't say FREE but it doesn't have a price either". They should honor it as a free movie/dinner package. It is very misleading. If I remember correctly, it even has a bar code on the back.
