?for those of you that have been in Epcot on NYE

I have read somewhere that there are celebration in the WS countries at the time that country sees in the new year. Does anybody know if they have a countdown and fireworks at the WS UK pavilion at 7:00pm to mark NY at home? If so, where do the celebrations take place? Thanks

We were there NYE 2000 /01 and spent the day in Epcot.

The 'celebrations' in each pavillion were nothing formal then, just a question of a countdown, a lot of cheering, streamers, hooters, etc. amongst the CMs and guests there at the time.

We made reservations for dinner at the Rose & Crown so that we would be 'in the UK' at 7pm (i.e. midnight back at home) and had fun joining in with the countdown, although it was sooooo cold we didn't really enjoy sitting on the patio as much as we'd hoped!

It was nothing to do with NY in the UK, but there was an extra showing of Illuminations at 7:30pm when we were in the Rose 7 Crown. I don't know if that happens every year, as it wasn't advertised in advance when we saw it, we just happened to be there at the right time.

(Beware - the weather can do anything at that time of year, so go prepared and I'm sure you'll have a great NYE )

Thanks Hilary. We've got ADR's for the Rose & Crown. I have read that all the countries mark their own New Year at the relevant time, sounds like fun

Just backing up what Hilary said really.

There are no fireworks, but it is good fun counting down to midnight at 7.00pm. Everyone has streamers and hats and more than a few have half yards of ale. Great fun.

In 2004/5 the CMs all came out and danced and made merry outside the Rose and Crown with lots of noise and merriment
