For those of you in Merchandizing

What made you want to choose the merchandizing field?

When I did merchandise my first CP, I chose it because my major was Recreation and Tourism.

...I've worked in retail before and I don't mind keeping merchandise organized even when kids are constantly moving everything. I also enjoy the guest interaction and I wanted to have a job that maybe I would have some experience in so I would feel confident in it. Merchandising is no where near my long-term career goals, but I am guessing most people's roles aren't.

I liked the busy pace, and also having a variety of shifts...stock, put-away, money room, etc. And the guest interaction was great as well. I worked in Africa in DAK...and everyone thought I was from Africa, so I had a lot of people speaking to me in fluent Swahili thinking I could understand good times
