For those of us who are Christmas Shopping now..Post Here!

I have a good start but have a lot more to go. I did find DD the Barbie pet/vet set she wanted. It was $29.99 but Target had it marked down to $19.99 so I bought it. My one son wants the lego castle - $99.99 and I really hope it is on sale but I doubt it. My other son is not sure what he wants but he did say he wanted a specific leapster game and I saw that Target has them on sale for $19.99 this week. So I plan to pick that up.

Any ideas for an 8 year old, I don't know? My husband's cousin is getting married and will have an 8 year old stepson. I don't want to spend a ton of money but I have to buy for him - any ideas?

Bakugun seems to be very popular with that age group. Toysrus had the Baku-Belt as one of the hot toys for 08.

You could find out whether he is into Pokemon or Bakugan- many boys that age are into one or both, and they are relatively inexpensive (a pack of Pokemon cards is like $4 and a Bakugan transforming ball thing is around $5). I know DS used to get more excited :yay: about a pack of Pokemon cards than anything when he was really into them.

Definitely check & see if he's into Pokemon. My DS loves Pokemon cards. He also loves anything Japanese & Target has 'Domo' (Japanese character) stuff right now as part of their Halloween collection. They have little Domo figures & stuffed Domo characters for $7-$9. I bought a few for DS as stocking stuffers.
Star Wars is also big right now with the new Clone Wars movie that came out in August.

My best suggestion would be to talk to the cousin & see what the kid likes.

Legos are another good choice for this age boys. There are some very neat things that you can get for $10-15.

Definitely Legos! My DSS is 7 and loves all things Lego. Right now he is really into the Indiana Jones Lego sets.

I just ordered some stocking stuffers from Artscow and I found my dh a glass beer mug with his name etched in it for $1.25 at Goodwill. Score!!!:cool1: Got mr dd a wall clock on clearance at JCPennys a few weeks ago, she's engaged and just wants things for their house. She approved it but I know she'll forget about it by the time christmas comes around.

Just got back from Target. Got tons of Camp Rock school accessories for DSD. Pens, stationary sets, binders, pencils notebooks, backpack etc. Super cheap! Got DD a kids Polaroid digital camera. (they also had camcorders!) Regular 79.99 for 19.98!! She's gonna love it. She's only 2!! She loves taking pictures. Got DSs iPod docking stations. Regular 69.99 for 17.48!! I love getting good deals!

Another heads up for anyone doing movie baskets- Walmart has a $5 bin of some good movies. Today I got Stand By Me, Unfortunate Events, Otis and Milo, Legally Blonde, The Mask, and a Scooby Doo 2 movie.

They had a lot of old movies and some others like The Matrix, Fargo, ect. Worth a look.

I vote BAKUGAN as well. All the boys love them. But get them early...they are hard to find. Although, I have seen some nice new accessories lately.:) :) :)

Was the Camp Rock stuff from back to school??

Found on Kohls website that they have a few Wii games that are buy one and get one half off, and with shipping and alll it came in under $50. Not bad for Wii games.

There is going to be a Kohl's sale this week and I think someone posted the 30% off code. I might check that out! Thanks!

I have started! I don't have much but at least I started.
I ordered DD a pair of Uggs.
I was despesrate to get Wii Fit and I could only get it as a bundle so I pulled out the Wii Ski and will give that at Christmas.
I bought my friends DD a Northface jacket.
I bought Madden 09 for DS and have a preorder in for World Tour for Wii. I think that is what it is called.

It is not much, I still have a ton to do. I am checking daily for any bargains on the net.

Looking forward to Black Friday!!

Where did you get the Wii Fit with Wii ski? Also where did you get the UGGS?

I need UGGS too. DD13 just infomrd me this is on her CHristmas list.

Zappos has UGGS. I've also ordered from the UGGS site in the past. Actually, I've seen them at a lot of different online sites and stores. Lord and Taylor, The Walking Company, Nordtroms and several others. I wouldn't wait til it gets too close to Christmas b/c certain styles sell out. I had a rough time finding size 7 black and chocolate UGGS last year in the classic short and tall styles in the beginning in December.

I have started and am almost finished, which makes me sad!! Our family of 4 is taking a first-ever Christmastime Disney trip, which is our gift. Other than the trip, and holiday pj's which are tradition, there won't be gifts. Santa is still coming Christmas morning, but I don't know what he'll be requested to bring...so I'm waiting....

I did get some good deals, though. I went outlet shopping, and found my sister a Coach bag for under $20--they even gift wrapped it for me, and found some William-Sonoma pottery that my mom collects for $10/piece, and got 2 pieces. Stumped on what to get the men in my family. They are hard to buy for, imo.

I've been seeing deals at Target and TRU and it's hard to pass some of it up!!

A Toys R Us by me is moving locations so we went and i got a few bargains. I got a
sleeping beauty and a cinderella porcelain dolls for 11.99,
a disney princess learn to draw set for 8.99,
a Hannah Montana Magic 8 ball for 5.99
Barbie and Kelley ballerina set for 8.99
Barbie princess with her bedroom set 8.99
Bratz Chloe head with make up 8.99
2 Barbie girl accessoy packs 4.00 each
and a Home depot painter set 8.99

I usually have a lot more bought by now, but DH has been laid off all summer and things have been really tight.

I might get that ds offer from TRU too. My 7 year old daughter wants one sooo badly. Online I put a ds in my cart and 19.99 game and it still gave me the 25% off, and I didn't get an accessory kit or the 29.99 game. I didnt get 25% off the game, but for 120 bucks I think I might do it, and wait until I have more money to buy more games.

I love that I found people who love shopping early like me. I just cant afford to go buy everything a few weeks before Christmas.

Black friday is one of my favorite days of the year. We stay up all night and go to the store at like 3 am and wait all night! My dh thinks I am crazy, but I LOVE it!:goodvibes

At our TRU, by the registers were some swim/bath toys. They had windup sharks and mermaids for $1. I picked up a few of these for stockings. Make sure and look around when checking out.

Also, for everyone buying DS's, I always check the Target clearance and pick up a lot of games for $10. This may get harder near the holidays, but start looking now.

I had previously picked up a few items.. one was a nightime pj set for DD16 at Walmart of Baby Tigger.. I was able to get DSS an ICP backpack online from Hottopic.. I found a code for $10 off 10.01 and the backpack was on clearance for $16.98.. shipping was around $5.. so it was about $21.98 and I got $10 off making it $11.98 (around that) and I found out I still had $6 balance in my paypal account so it was only $5.98 out of my pocket

This year is hard for me.. I dont have many ideas for the kids and on top of that Im trying to keep things simplier than in years past.. I have recently started selling Avon so I saw a few perfume sets for my 2 girls and my son loves the Derek Jeter cologne so Im planning on ordering those 3 things next week while I can still get a good % off as I get 50% on my first 4 campaigns.. so that'll be 3 gifts down.. and also there are little travel sizes of bubble bath, bath gel and lotions and I plan on getting those for the stockings..

Keep the ideas coming..
