For those going to Pirates event on DVC pts

I am staying at OKW for the 1st time for this trip
I own at SSR, but wanted to be as point stingy as possible.

Just booked SSR-that's the only place they had a stuido available.

This is my first Event staying at SSR as well. As you said only place that had a studio!

Do you gals know anything about transportation? If I understood correctly there are shuttles from all the resorts to the "events". Does this include SSR? I'm not renting a car this trip.

The way I understood it (I will see if I can find my previous thread) was that the bus will take us from SSR to the movie and back. I dont know about the other events. I am staying at SSR too, but I live close and am driving.

Stacy,

All DVC guests can park at the Contemporary for all of our events. Bus transportation will be from the Contemporary to Downtown Disney for the
movie. All guests of the event can use the bus transportation
to and from the movie and the Contemporary. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Yup that is what i figured. It says on the Itinerary that after the movie buses will return to Disney Resorts...

So it is just a matter of getting from SSR to Contemporary earlier in the day on Thursday for me... From what I can tell on the Itinerary Once the fun begins on Thursday it runs straight through till dinner and on till movie time.

easiest is probably to get transportation to MK and either walk or ride the monorail.

I think at some point, maybe when you purchased the event package, they asked if you would be driving yourself or would need your own transportation. I am local, but I elected to seperately use some of my banked points from last UY to stay in a studio at OKW for 2 nights (Wed & Thurs) while putting my cat in the spa (Absolute Heaven, up on Colonial, his home away from home). I told ES that I would be driving, and I expect to do some carpooling with my pals, 1000th happy haunt & her hubby - athenna, aren't you in on that too?

I know recall why I have never ever gone to WDW without my own transportation. It took an average of 45 minutes to get from STS to Contemporary!!!!!!!

More than likely, that was me, as I was driving over that way on both Wed, Thurs & Fri.....
