Did you all pick first or second dining times???

If you look at page one of the podcast cruise thread, THE LIST has who picked which seating. DCL forum has numerous threads as to which is "better" depending on your preference. Most picked 2nd/late so far. :goodvibes

Second because......

-Don't have to rush to get ready for dinner
-Longer Happy Hour

I picked second as well. What Kathy said and a lot of the troublemakers, um I mean fun people are picking second seating.

Kim

I am requesting 1st but only because I will have an almost 3 year old. He needs to eat early.

Becky

I was originally on first but had Tracy change it to second - I eat late normally so the early dining is not something I would enjoy.

We picked second seating because we can't get used to east coast time and those early morning breakfasts are killers (yes...we're wimps!).

wimpwimpwimpwimp....I'm going to knock on your cabin door every morning at 7 a.m. now. The only way to stop me is to arrange it so there is no ABBA in my presence on this cruise...good luck, LLL!

Face it Hon, there is going to be ABBA. All day, everyday. From the moment we board till the moment they kick us off the ship. ABBA! Your only refuge may be to kick Will out of the cistern.

Mamma Mia here I go again
My My how can I resist you.....

Well, my only consolation is...by the end of the cruise, EVERYONE is going to hate ABBA!

There shall be no hating of ABBA! ;)

I've listened to the the Mamma Mia soundtrack everyday now for a week and I still don't hate it...it's gonna take a lot to get me to hate it! Good luck! :rotfl:

pssst...can we replace Mindy'a alarm clock with something that will play ABBA everytime it goes off? Or how about her wake up calls? :rotfl: ;)

GMTA... :rotfl2: Would be like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, waking up to "I got you babe" every morning. :rotfl2:

We picked the first dining time; however, peer pressure may force us to go with the second. :)

I think this borders on ABBA hate speech!!!!

Maybe Mindy should start humming this: :rotfl:

Waterloo - I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo - Promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo - Couldn't escape if I wanted to
Waterloo - Knowing my fate is to be with you
Waterloo - Finally facing my Waterloo

(BTW, I have second seating.)

 Same w/us, I have a feeling we will be changing to the later seating - seems like all the cool kids picked the second seating - I feel like I'm in high school again....just do it... you know you want to.... all the other kids are doing it....

I posted this on a different thread but thought it might be helpful in this situation also.

I like the late seating for dining for several reasons:

(1) I usually eat late anyways.

(2) With late seating you don't have to rush getting ready for dinner. Early seating starts at 5:30 (depending on your rotation) so that means starting to get ready at 4:00ish so that everyone in your cabin can have a turn in the shower - at least in my family. With late seating, you can relax in the late afternoon instead of rushing to get showers and dressed for the evening. Usually I take my shower, put on casual clothes, see the show and then go back to the cabin to put on my makeup and do my hair after the show before dinner.

(3) I also like to have a relaxing cocktail before dinner and with early seating that would take place really early - like before 5:00.

(4) If I had early seating and was to go to the later shows after I had eaten a large meal with wine I would be asleep in no time flat.

(5) And the late seating seems to be a more relaxed meal because the servers don't have to "rush" you out for the next seating. (Now that can be a problem sometimes because your meal can drag on - especially if you don't like your tablemates.)

I can certainly see the appeal of the early seating if you have smaller children or you are an early to bed kind of person. But for me the late seating works better.
