i have prety much ran the gammut of emotion, and now i'm just ticked.

at 9:30 last night i was surprised,

then by 10 i was depressed.

then this morning after a sleepless night i was aprehensive and pretty much losing my self esteem, then at 830 i was mad.

at 11 i was slightly relieved and as the afternoonb progressed i was madder and madder till now its past full fledged poed to oh well , who knows,

at 9:30 last night i discovered that the state parks job had been relisted for application...

which i overnight transfered into i didnt get the job, i've got no chance,

so i called them this morning at 8 30, was told that i would have to reapply, re interview, etc, because they didnt have enough applicants to meet thier quota.

so i fumed over that, decided they aint getting rid of me that easy, came home at 11 and tryed to reapply,

system wont let me.

you have already applied for this job,,

well duh.

so i call them again and this time get het lady on the phone over the hr dept. she tells me no i dont have to reapply, nor will i have to reinterview, she can just t ell gary that i am definately still interested and wanting the job.

arggggggggggggggggggggggg

another month and a half of wait and see.

this stinks.

What a convoluted process! So basically, you could be the right fit, but they didn't have enough people apply so they can't hire you? What a bummer! Hopefully it will work out in the end, but I'm sorry that you're having to go through this.

yes and if i had not checked up and followed my instincts to check the web site again,, i would be out of the running at this point.

Oh Froggy, you poor thing!
Patience is a virtue I do not have, so I would be going nutso myself

Hang in there, hopefully it will all be worth it :sunny:

That's your tax dollars hard at work! :thumbsup2 Really stinks, but at least you're not out of it yet! :cheer2: Hope they meet their interview quota this time around and see that you were the clear choice! :)

i'm praying i dont have to go re interview,, its at least 5 hours from home to interview site, i would have to travel up the night before, and spend at least 150 bucks on the trip...

A certain number of people have to apply?

Send me the link. I'll put in an application that will help fill the quota and will be guaranteed to make you look like a princess. :)

A guy once wrote on an application (I SWEAR I am not making this up!): "I once had to kill a guy."

I could use that line! :)

oh they plenty apply,, but then back out at last minute
and not interview,

i'm sure it will fill this time,, the crews alreay been short over 3 months,,lol

Isn't it fun. I just applied to a position on line. I filled out the application and emailed it just like the website said to. Yesturday I get a letter from the place and a blank application. They asked me to fill out the application and send it back. It's the exact application I filled out online (and saved so all I have to do is print it out and snail mail it). Well, I called the school to tell them I would be glad to fill out the application and send it back but that I had already emailed a completed one.

The school's response? "We can't figure out how to print it out so we need you to send in a paper copy."

Good luck in your search. I hope this one works out for you.

Hi Froggy  I'm sorry about the job thing. I imagine that you probably won't have to reinterview unless they find someone else in this new pool they also like and want to compare you with. I work at a state university in TN and I had to relist a job 3 times because I didn't get enough "diversified" applications if you understand what I mean. I think that is probably the same problem with your listing. I can call my brothers and ask them to apply, they are pretty uselss unless they want Larry the Cable guy for an employee. ;)

yup, that's the state (or govt) for you. DH gets stuff like that with military. Paperwork & delays.

if i have to come back to your neck of the woods again to re interview, i may havea chance to look ya up and say hi,,lol,, or crash in your driveway... doubt dw is going to go for another three day trip to the lake, so i may be on my own this time.

i found out today that my baby bro who works in the dept of education, had to apply 5 times for teh same listing before he was hired,, and they actuallly had recruited him out of college.

FroggyinArk,
I have not been following the search of the job with the state. But I work for the same state as your from, different department I think, it took me five months and three interviews later to get my position. Just keep your name on the list and eventually you will get the job. What dept is it? Have you thought about another dept? State has lots of openings right now even tho there is an hiring freeze. Maybe they could not get the freeze lifted in the timeframe they needed to hire.

OH NO YOU DON'T! They would probably hire me just because I am a woman (that diversity thing). I told ya my carpenter days are over give me a desk, phone and computer thank you very much.

Awwwww Froggy, I know you held such high hopes. I'm sorry and I feel your pain ((((big hugs)))). If they were in such dire straights as they led you to believe and told you to have your work wrapped up in 2 weeks, what's the problem?? :confused3

So, they keep your hopes up and you are suppose to put your life on hold another 6 weeks :yo-yo: ????
Froggy, I would keep on truckin' with what you have going for you and give it all ya got honey :goodvibes ! Fingers crossed, maybe this job will come thru and then again maybe it's a sign something better is around the corner :genie: . At any rate, keep your chin up and keep on strokin' giving life your best shot :smooth: . You and Mrs. Froggy hang in there  . Your big break surely is around the corner, as it's long over due and if it's meant to be it will happen! DH waited 4 mos for his gov. job - but it finally came thru and it was the best thing that ever happened. He enjoyed his work for yrs there until he finally retired. Godspeed ^i^

He is away from his desk right now so I will answer that question for you. He has applied with the state parks for journeyman carpenter position. If he doesn't get the job it will be because he is over qualified. He's the only carpenter I know that has had 20yrs experience and 4 yrs of college.

its parks and recreation,, state parks, i'm a carpenter, and that is about the only dept that h ires those, maintenance maybe in a few others or at the universities,m but i wantto try and keep my home base here where we are for now, so i'll either have to travel or get a second home, the parks benefits package will allow me to travel the parks and still live here.
