For those expecting a drs appointment update tonight

After recieveing three calls last week from the drs offices, it was realized that i no longer have coverage through medicaid, and still dont qualify for ssi or dis ability, so being that the dr s office wants as much cash as i make in a week to see me for this consult/check up, we are postponing it until i can work through some red tape and get covered by some sort of insurance to pay them. As much as i want to get this going again, i'm just going to have to wait. Thanks for all your support, and interest

Sorry to hear this Froggie. Hope things look up in the insurance dept. and you qualify for more help or find affordable ins. The person that hit your car and caused your medical problems - his insurance assumes no financial obligation? Even if he had no ins, in Md. we have to have a rider that protects us so we're covered either way . Wishing you the best!

her insurance payed the policy limit,, and in arkansas you cant get more than the limit from the ins. co. i had un insured coverage, but not under insured, so since she had thee min, i couldnt claim any more, than her 25 grand

I am so sorry to hear all of this! Is there some other program you may qualify for? Or, a group of docs who may donate their time for what you need? Gosh, there has to be something! I can't believe docs would not see you because you cannot afford the follow up....wait, yes I can! Maybe given enough time, someone will think of some way you can get what you need....

thnks gang, i know it'll all work out. i am trying hard not to go sign up on ssi/social security disabillitiy because quite frankly i would rather work part time, and deal with a little bit of pain than sit around all day. i'm going to go back to the state medicaid program and see why it is that other people who are in wr ecks seem to be getting coverage for yearrs and years and i cant get it long enough to finish what the drs started. the drrunk driver cant pay anything else for at least another yearr or two,, shes still in jail.

oh shes paying,, she was sentanced to 12 yearss , which made her eligible for parole in three (july 07) there is a $168,000.00 judggement against her, a criminal judgement, to be payed weekly upon release to local sheriffs office, and i got a 20 grand advance on that during the initial spree of surgery, if she misses her payments after release it violates her back in for full 26 yr term.

Just an FYI, if you do get approved for SSDI, you can make $810 a month (before taxes) and keep your entire check. That's a federal mandate so it doesn't vary by state.
