Is anyone else feeling a little anxious:eek: I have sooooo many last minute things to do before we leave that I'm actually losing sleep over it, then I'm tired during the day and more anxious because I didn't accomplish everything and so it goes.......

In addition to doing regular "getting ready for vaca" stuff, we are smack in the middle of remodeling our kitchen, so before we leave I have to pick out and order wallpaper, choose our countertops and a gazillion other little things that will have to wait until our return. OK.....take a deep breath.......:earseek:

Anyone else feeling the pre-trip gotta get everything done before I leave jitters????

I'm stressing because I don't know if I'm going on a one or two day trip!

We're taking my cousin from out of state and plans change so we have to go to the park sooner than planned (oh darn...lol). Problem is, we don't know if Entertainment Rates will be available for when we want to go. So it all is left to if we can get a good rate onsite (offsite is an option..maybe...but my mom wants to let my cousin and myself go to the park by ourselves sometimes and she stay at the hotel. We can't do this if we are offsite and my mom is upset by this.)

Aargh! She's calling tomorrow so... *crosses fingers*

But since I live only 2 1/2 hours away, preparing isn't too stressful for us. It IS a little...we just redid our Guest Bedroom this weekend with our 2 day trip in between. That was a bit stressful.

Yay! We are all going soon!! :bounce:

I too am stressing! Trying to get everything together. Get the house together (hate coming home from vacation to a messed up house). I've got a list of things I need, things I need to do and the did you forget this!

This week is gonna crawl. I keep saying Saturday morning, saturday morning, you can do this!

The past week has not decreased my stress: DH went on his annual camping trip with friends for 5 days, came home yesterday. Got home by 3 so I could leave for work at 4pm. I work 4-midnight Sun, Mon, Tues and leave for the airport at 6 am Wednesday!!!!! So...not much got done while he was gone (me and kids didn't do much 'work", just relaxed), and now I'm scrambling.

PLUS---school starts right after we return, so I had to do back to school shopping while there are still backpacks left! (Walmart selection is BAD this year).

Why am I on the boards!?!?!?!? I should be PACKING!!!! LOL

I know Patti........ me too, we leave thursday........ BUT, my 15 year old has started the "LIST". Of things we need to bring with us........ so, at least that is a step in the right direction!!!! :D

LOL... .Just kidding. We already came bac from our trip. I know how you feel. I think it's normal just with the anticipation and excitement about a trip!!!!!!

In the end, it's all worth it.

All of you, have a wonderful time!

Yes, I know. It can be stressful, but I have tried a new approach this year. I have scaled down quite a bit and am more willing to delegate. Whatever clothes I figured we need, I have cut that by at least 1/3. (I would rather wear something 2x than pack so many items I don't know where to keep them or have to haul them!) I am having my 10 yr old son pack his own entertainment for the 1000 mile road trip. I have told my husband that I expect that he will pack his own meds, grooming items and the drink cooler. This has helped ALOT!! Mostly I have tried to remember this... What is the WORST that will happen if I don't do X? If I can't stand the WORST, I know I have to make sure I address it. If the consequences for not doing X are bearable, or more palatable than driving myself crazy trying to accomplish before I go, than I delegate or forget about altogether. If I know the consequence for not doing X will seriously affect my vacation, I take care of it myself. When I look at the world this way, I find that there are very few things that fall into the latter category.

Happy packing and take it easy on yourselves.

Oh, by the way, SINGLE DIGIT DANCE FOR ME TOO!!

Yesterday I was walking out of the house on my way to work, listing stuff for DH to try to get done for me. It probably would have looked pretty funny to an outsider---him following me out of the house into the driveway with a pad and pencil! LOL!! Anyway, I was venting, and he told me to wait one minute and went back in the house. He came out and put a credit card in my hand: "We're all packed!" he said. LOL!!!!

I keep flipping back and forth between EXTREME excitement and stressing :p THis is our 1st trip to Universal (we leave on THursday)and we are coming back right in the middle of our 2 DS's football practices-so I was out today getting football spikes, etc. and last minute stuff!!! I have to say though, that for me these last couple of days before the trip are always so much fun-guess it's the anticipation of it all-kinda like Christmas!!! Anyone else feel that way? (Although I am NOT a good flier)
