...then they have to cancel their package. Are all their ADRs automatically canceled or does WDW expect them to remember to call back and cancel those ADRs?

I'm trying to figure out when some of the ADRs for my vacation time frame might fall off the system creating an opening. I am trying to improve some of my ADR times (switching from lunch to dinner) but there never seems to be a change in availability for a party of nine. I have read here many times that ADRs will open up as people see that they really aren't going to be able to pay off their packages in full 45 days out.

I asked this morning about this and was told no, they do not cancel them when the package is cancelled. She said that they are actually not tied to one another.

Unfortunately, the pp is correct - the person who made the ADR has to actually call and cancel it if they're not going to make their trip. :headache: Which really stinks for those of us trying to "tweak" our dining plans. Let's just hope that they realize here pretty soon that they need to cancel those ressies! :thumbsup2

I never tie the ADR to my room reservation # because I'm afraid of the day they decide that a cancelled room ressie = a cancelled trip. I always book my ADR's under my home or cell #. If they ask which resort I am staying at when I book I will tell them but I never use the ressie #. Sometimes with DVC I am wait listed for an alternate resort so if the waitlist comes through the reservation # changes. And yes I do cancel unwanted ADR's ASAP.
