When I was a child, we weren't bombarded by television commercials, but boy did we look forward to the SEARS CATALOG in October! Whoo hoo! They had every toy in there that you could imagine. Pages and pages of toys and everything else. My brother and I would get out a pen and circle everything we wanted (which was almost everything), then look at the pages almost everyday until Christmas.

Oh Saffron, can I relate to the Sears toy book . I got the Sears Wish Book last month and had my 2 DGD's circle what they would like so I could get some ideas.

Although, I must admit half of my shopping is done. How can you resist when all the decorations are up? I need to be in the Christmas mood to even think of buying presents, so as soon as I see any hint Christmas is around the corner I go to it.

Ahh, as I look over this reply, I see I have been another victim of commericalism. Never mind it's a sacred holiday, just think buy, buy, buy. I feel very ashamed I was suckered again.
