Hi All!
Here is some action we can take regarding seal products. A friend posted this on her web site.....
"I received this good news from ocean activist Kurt Leiber this morning. Please join Kurt and myself in letting Costco know how pleased you are with their decision to stop selling seal oil. If you'd like to enroll in Kurt's email listing of ocean related news stories, please email him at tbirdkurt1@earthlink.net
"Here is a way to thank Costco for taking seal oil caps off their inventory. They need to know there are people that support them for being a corporation with a conscience. I've attached a short form that you can hand out to the manager.
Kurt Leiber
Many of you are probably aware of the hissy-fits the Premier of Newfoundland, Danny Williams and the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, Loyola Hearn have both been throwing in regards to Costco pulling seal oil caps. Danny W. is calling for a boycott of Costco (as if he doesn't have anything better to do other than waste Newfoundland taxpayers money over a $300 per week - profit wise - business deal) while Loyola Hearn is wanting to meet with senior Costco Exec's to bully err... talk with them.
I recommended that if indeed there is a boycott called for against Costco, our side should counter with "Costco Appreciation Days" where Costco members who want to show their support, after having shopped at Costco, could ask for the manager over at the membership desk and then hand him a small paper-card (Word doc template attached) that would read:"
Dear Costco,
I have made a point of shopping at Costco today to show my support for your company's compassionate decision to discontinue the sale of seal oil capsules at your St. John's, Newfoundland warehouse. In fact, whenever possible, this fine decision will encourage me to increase my purchases at Costco.
Sincerely,
Your Customer
