For the DIS Ladies only... (no men allowed)

Oh and another thing about that site - they have lots of sales. I know Playtex and Bali both offer Buy 2 get one free a lot. Or 2 for $30

I like the Bali bras. I get them at a discount through www.lhbpoutlet.com

Thanks for that tip, Jenzebelle. I found the one I wear on that site and it is considerably cheaper!

I finally, on recommendation from several friends, went out and bought a Body By Victoria bra from VS. It was comfortable for the first 3 or 4 hours. I wore it on our flight down to Orlando, and let me tell ya, one of the first things I did when we got to our room at the Wilderness Lodge was TAKE OFF THAT BRA! It was so damned itchy and just didn't feel good at all!

Needless to say, I haven't worn it since, and it cost over $35.00!

Just a few weeks ago, I got several very comfortable bras from JC Penney, one by Jockey and the other I think it's Bali. No underwires (hate them) and are fine for the bigger size category! They look very deceiving, very dainty, one is all lace.

But they do the trick just fine! They came in the small/medium/large/extra large sizes(rather than 32A, 34B, etc.) I never would've trusted that...but was I ever wrong!

Give it a try, you might be surprised!

Lane Bryant is a great place to go.:) I have a hard time finding my size in any other store (I'm of the DD variety, but there are some styles I have to get a little bigger up than that:eek: ). They have a great selection too.:)

I used to wear Olga bras and found them very comfortable. I like the ones with underwires. I wore a 36D and could always find them in my size at regular department stores.

Now that I'm nursing, I have to go to specialty stores to get bras that fit. Even maternity stores don't carry the 34G that I need now. There are only two companies that I've been able to find that make the cup big enough and the back small enough to fit me, and one of them I can't wear because the fabric makes my breasts itch.

Lane Bryant is owned by the same parent company as Victoria Secrets. I wear a 38DD (or 40D or 42D when I can't find my correct size) and I was told by the clerk at our VS that I would need to go to Lane Bryant for the fuller figured bras. I asked DH what all of these women with implants did for bras if VS doesn't carry hardly any Ds and no DDs! Never did find anything I liked at Lane Bryant. My Walmart and Target carries a Hanes bra (it's either Hanes her Way or Just my size) that comes in my size. There is one in particular that I love and that is all I will buy now. I have to wear underwire - really need that support and these are really comfortable.

Is there anything worse than an uncomfortable bra? I just discovered Champion which I though only made sports bras. But they have an everyday bra that is SO comfortable. It's stretchy but strong and no underwire. I got it at Filene's - a department store in Mass. (it's a May Company store, I don't know where you live but there seem to be May Co. stores everywhere.) I only bought 2 when they were on sale, I'm definately going back for more! Good luck - let us know how you make out!

I've got mine from Mervyns, and in the past from JC Penneys - I'm another one that hates the underwire kind, and I need 'good' ones.

Thanks for the tips - I'm going to check out those sites. :)

And I HATE to shop for bras. I'm waaaaay overdue, too.

Another vote for Bali, which I got at JCPenneys during their One day only sale (which they seem to have every weekend).
After reading all the replies I am amazed at how many 36D's there are. LOL! My daughter & I often lament that we must be the only ones with such an odd size because it can be so hard to find it.

So how many male Dis'ers do you think couldn't resist the temptation to see what this thread was all about and are blushing a rosy red color now? :Pinkbounc

Being a "Full Figured" (42 DDD/F) gal I only wear playtex 18 hour with comfort straps. These are the only one I can find that will fit. Being a large busted women, is not what it is cracked up to be.

You want to know something guys? Shopping for a SMALL size bra is hell too. I'm a 34 barely B and no bra I've ever owned really fit right. The best thing I've found is a Barely There bra. ANY padded bra is a joke. I don't have enough to fill up the cups and I look like Madonna in her "torpedo bra" phase.

I guess we all have our troubles.;)

I wear Warner's FRIDAY Bra, I get it at JCPENNEY'S and buy about 3 at a time. No adjustable strap, and NO underwire, I LOVE it!;)

Boobular gals might like some of these sites:

Bravissimo -- not cheap, but high, high quality and super cute stuff for cup sizes D-JJ. Cute swimsuits, bikinis and strappy tank tops, too.

Title 9 Sports has a good selection of larger sports bras.

And I've never ordered anything from them, but I've heard excellent things about Ann's Bra Shop.

I'm a 'white no underwire has to be comfortable but needs a big size' shopper. Used to buy these cheap Kmart ones and was going insane because they didn't carry them anymore. Bought a black lacy underwire one from Target on a whim, figuring I'd end up returning it. I loved it. Thin straps, fit well, felt good. I'm going to be a little more daring from now on and look for some different colors.

Boobular... well, thats a funny term!

I've bought and had decent luck with Just My Sizes, and Playtex's 18 hour. I got a nice one from Fredericks as well, which all though it does look institutional... it fits nice.

I'll have to traipse through VS one day without the kids. I tried to bra shop with my kids the other day... first my son was embarrassed, and my daughter (the innocent 5 year old she is) kept on shouting... "THESE ARE FOR BOOBIES!"....

I can't shop with them anymore

Do you remember which brand it was from Target? Just curious.

I like to mix and match, some more expensive bras with some less expensive ones... usually the less expensive ones fit better, but I like to try all kinds.

I saw also somewhere.. a skinny strap tank top, with a bra built in, but not a little teeny shelf bra.. but a real one with cups.....

Has anyone ever tried those type of tank tops? I think I saw it in Target..

LOL, yeah, I know how that is.

Cindy, do you have a May company store near you? I know they have some tank tops with extra support.
