Ok, now I'm just going to ask the question .. and I'm sure I will get some ribbing later...

What is a good bra? WHat are ones you are happy with? Which brands do you enjoy? For the full figured ladies, what do you like?

I'm on the full figured side (I won't post the size, but its not two consanants if you know what I mean), so of course that makes most of the cute tiny ones with little straps out of the question.

I'd love to find some to go with skinnies strap tank tops but I need the thicker straps if you know what I mean...
I 'm not sure how the clear strap ones will feel for me.....

All my bras are getting in sad shape.... so any advice would be appreciated. I do have a hard time finding my size usually in Marshalls, Ross and the like. I have to dig at JC Penney and Sears to find them but its not impossible... I have a hard time a Victoria's Secret... my size must be a secret to them...

Thanks!

I love anything Victoria's Secret, if you can afford them, they're great. Just go into a store and the ladies there will help you find the perfect one.

As far as brands go, Wacoal is the most comfortable and durable for me. I make sure the straps are wide and non-elastic. I run on the larger side, too and know what you mean about having a hard time finding good bras. If you have a Dillards they have a great selection of full figured bras that aren't institutional looking. Good luck!

Agreed... the signature cotton bras are great and are normally on sale 2 for $30!!! I also like the Olga lace bras... very comfy. I wear a 36D.

See, the last time I went in Victorias Secret, they didn't have the greatest of selection in my size...

They had tons of 34 A's..... which is great if you are a 34A , but well, I'm not!

It was very frustrating to even find a D, let alone my number. The last time I went to the mall VS was having a sale.

They used to measure there, do they still do that?

I have Olga's now, but they are lookng a little worse for the wear if you know what I mean...

I wear Warner's Flower Charms. But the underwire ones. They seem to do it for me. No tiny strap ones for me either.

Hate 'em, don't wear 'em, never did. Okay, once in a while, for a special occasion, but more often not.

The way gravity is going, soon my boobs will reach my belly button and then I'll tuck 'em in my pants. :teeth:

I have the same problem and it is funny because this very subject has been on my mind the past couple of days. I am a larger size too and I have been wearing the Just My Size (I don't like underwire so I don't wear those) and they have been okay except this last one I got is very uncomfortable. The right strap keeps rolling and cuts into my shoulder near the front by the armpit. They do make ones now that I think have padded straps (JMS) and I have heard they are very comfortable. I get mine at WalMart.

I use to buy the very expensive ones at JCPenney but I haven't since I tried these several years ago.

That just struck me as very funny! I'm about there as well!

Laura...ROTFLOL!

I can't stand underwire...I have never ONCE found an underwire I could wear and I will tell you I'm a size 40 D....Wal-Mart sells a brand....what is the name.... V something maybe that I wear a 38D in and it fits wonderfully! I did buy a Hanes Her Way (no underwire) from Wal-Mart in a size 42 D and it was really really comfortable.

I would love to wear underwire because I have seen some really pretty ones but the wire always seems to come out on me.

Have you tried their website or catalog? I am sure they would have more variety of sizes available.

cindy, i have a friend who is very well-endowed as well and vicky's doesn't even make her cup size (not in the catalog either). :( you may have a smiliar problem.

I LOVE Body from Victoria's Secret. They are super comfy! I normally wear a 36 D, but being pregnant, I've grown to a 36DD. Never have a problem finding my size at the store here.

LOL!

I have to have underwire, I can't stand going without. I've gotten several pretty ones lately from Ayres at the mall near me.
I don't wear the spaghetti strap tank tops unless I plan on putting a shirt on over it, or I'm home and then the bra gets taken off.

Cindy having met you, I can guess what your problem is with finding them... VS has a very limited selection in my size on the website or in the store (pretty much never in the store). I am a 'normal/average' number but a bit above elsewhere. I find that Olga makes a wonderful bra. Lillyette (I think is how it is spelled) makes a comfy one too for larger sizes. Those two seem to cater more towards a larger range of sizes. I really just look for underwire & as much metal on the bra as possible. I find that metal lasts longer. But that is me. I just go to my local department store and look around and the vast majority of what I find are Olga and they do seem to last. Good luck!

Skuttle, I am amazied, our VS rarely carries a good selection of 36D let alone a 36DD and almost never a 34DD. They really don't have a great selection in my neck of the woods at all in the stores. I find they make the majority of their styles for a B & C cup.

Yes the VS near me, had tons of A's & B's, and only a few C's... (smaller numbers at that), and only a very very small amount of D's...

They were hidden in the back of the drawers, but weren't the right number...

I've never seen a DD in there, when I have gone in there...

I can go etiher underwire or not, but I actually prefer the underwire, they do seem to last longer.. until the underwire snaps... (that happened during work one day,.... talk about an emergency pit stop!)

Depending on what size you need, maybe a Lane Bryant store might have the right cup size. I have found several there without the underwire -- which I hate.

I get mine at JCPenney. It's by Bali. I need to have the elastic straps because I can't stand when I stretch up and my bra comes with it! I'm not small either, so gotta have the wider back (4 hooks).

JCPenney is continuing their Bra Fit Event through 6/28. Check it out! They have good deals!

Thats a great sight Jenn...I'm looking now.

Also I've never heard of Olga...I thought of our own Olga (MsKanga) and was thinking now why would she have one of Olga's bras...LOL

YES I'M DENSE SOMETIMES...I ADMIT IT FREELY!
