Ann,

According to the schedule at

http://www.ships.vi/stt/dec_2003.htm

the Magic and the Zuiderdam will anchor in the Inner Anchorage on 12/17. That schedule shows the Explorer of the Seas and the Golden Princess at WICO. With those 2 big ships at WICO, I don't know if there is room for a third ship.

Actually, all three of those ships can fit on the WICO pier, but from time to time when I've been there, there have only been two ships on the pier due to maintenance activity. Here's a picture of the Magic, Explorer, and Grand Princess (sister ship to Golden and Star Princess) on the WICO pier, from the st-thomas.com site. However, their schedule also shows the Magic at the inner anchorage:

If the ship must drop anchor in the harbor you tender in rather than if it is at the pier you just walk off the ship. So if it anchors where will the tender drop off be? Closer to downtown or near havensight?

I've tendered in from the Norway, which has to anchor in the outer anchorage, and actually found it very convenient to be dropped off and picked up right at the waterfront in town. Since the Magic anchors in the inner anchorage, it should be a fairly short ride to dry land.

Here's to a great trip Ann :wave2:

The tender drops you off at downtown Charlotte Amalie rather than over by Havensight.
oooh! I would rather be closer to shopping, downtown is much nicer than that little mall..

Although I've somehow never had to tender, I've always thought it would be more convenient to be dropped off at the tender pier downtown. The cab ride from downtown to the WICO pier takes forever at 4:00 in the afternoon. Several times, I've sat in a cab in traffic, not moving, with visions of the ship pulling away while I was less than 100 yards from it waiting for a light to change.

Ann, We tendered into St Thomas on the 11/15 and where we landed was a very short walk to the little farmers market area. We were right in front of an intimate apparel shop with an "interesting" display in the window.
