We need a one night stay for our day of arrival (arrive at supper time), before we move to the AKL the next day. We're planning to go to downtown disney that evening, and then Animal Kingdom the next morning. Travelling with 3 kids (age 5, 3, 3) and two sets of grandparents (my mother in law has trouble walking very far) so may decide to drive from the hotel to DTD regardless.

I'm considering two options (for 3 rooms total):

Sheraton Safari
- TravelZoo promotion : $69/nite
- not sure of how much parking costs (will have two cars)

Hotel Royal Plaza:
- Mousesavers promotion $90/nite (standard room)
- I hear that got rid of valet parking..? Is that true? Is parking free?

We may not be able to walk to DTD with the entire family, but it's nice to be that close to DTD with the HRP. Is the $20/nite difference worth it (factoring in any possible differences in parking)?

I've stayed at the Safari a few times and never had a bad stay - and $60/night is a great rate! Although it really is a hike to walk to and from DTD, the car ride is VERY short. Also, parking is free at the Safari so that's not a factor.

HTH - feel free to ask any more questions! :goodvibes

We have stayed 3 times at Sheraton Safari for one night, our arrival nite and then transferred to Disney Property for the rest of our stay. We were satisfied and the walk to downtown disney would be too long, but with a car just a short drive. There are plenty of restaurants across from the Safari and our stay was without any problems, room was clean, ect. For the money, I would definately stay at the Safari. Enjoy your stay and have a good vacation.l:banana:
