I googled about purple shirt day..........and I can't even repeat some of the stuff that came up, and the one thing I clicked on............
the picture, and the words, and what it was all about.
sheeesh.

Same here. Nothing to be offened by on at least the fist two pages(I didn't bother to look any further).

I wish i had heard about it sooner. The kids are already at school and not in purple (though I doubt any of their German schoolmates would know about this issue anyway). At least I can change into purple now though

Yes I was looking to see if today was the day to wear the purple shirts.

what I clicked on said purple shirt day and it was a porn site with teen boys.........it was child porn, which is so sickening, I clicked off so fast when I realized what it was.
I was so disgusted.
I don't want to search it again, I don't want that anywhere near my computer!

what is this safe search, I must not have it on, because one other day I tried to type in for Dicks Sporting Goods,
and well, I didn't put the sporting goods part, I thought the website was just the first name dot com.
well you can guess the rest

oh and just to say, when I clicked on the site, it didn't appear to be offensive in the google search til you got to the actual site

I feel bad that happened to you OP, hopefully the authorities will stuble on it too and some creep will make jail his/her new home soon.

I did the sporting goods thing once but realized my mistake as soon as I hit the return key so I didn't get into trouble. Then years ago, when the internet as still new, I was looking to see if the Mickey Mouse Club was still around an who the old members were. Well I stumbled onto Rotten . com and not knowing what it was oh, my was I in for a surprise! Another time I did a search for photos of Spider-man. At first they all seemed normal. But then I noticed something odd about the fat old guy and realized he was naked wearing Spider-man body paint. If I could have scrubbed my eyes clean I would have.

People can be so weird.

On a happier note I am wearing lavender sweats today, too much heartache in the news to not acknowledge the issue is real.

My yellow lab likes to lick her paws, a lot. When I was younger and more innocent I googled 'labs licking'. DON'T. Trust me on this one. There is some NASTY stuff out there.

Well I just googled "Purple shirt day" and I believe I got the same site that the OP did. . .it was the third link down. I didn't even scroll down. .. but the pic at the top of the page was disturbing.

It's a wordpress blog. . .it took forever but I finally figured out how to ask Google to remove it. I hope it works.

Oooh, yeah, I always have moderate safesearch on for Google because the internet is a frightening place. =) You can turn it to moderate or strict by going to google.com, clicking "Settings" in the top right corner and then "Search Settings" which will take you to the page to modify preferences.
