During Easter week, we just got done watching the Electric Parade from Adventure Land. I wanted to see the Crystal Palace resturant, so we walked in front of it.

We decided we wanted to ice cream, so we walked to Casey's. the sidewalks were swarmed with people waiting for the Fireworks to begin. We couldn't walk off the side walks or move, there were so many people.

We crossed off the corner curb and their was a family sitting their and I knocked over a small girls pringles cup with chips in it. I said I was sorry and picked them up, but the dad starts swearing at me. I said I was sorry, but he sweared at me in front of his kids.

It was so dark in the area and people are sitting on all the curbs and standing in the road waiting for Fireworks, I felt so bad I didn't even get ice cream.

One more Ying Yang. I cut in front of people taking pictures with Walt and Mickey, (the bronze statues) they had to wait for me to take their picture. That was the only time I ever did that, usually I wait. Later that day I wanted my picture taken with my son and niece and the person that took our picture cut off Walt's head.

OKay, here is a recent one for me...

While waiting in line for autographs and pictures with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, the line was cut off right after my group (all females in our early 20s). Well, there was a little boy (about 3 or 4) behind us in line that looked like he would have a major meltdown if he did not get to see them, so we told his mother to let him come up with us. Apparently this infurated the other people in line because we were getting autographs and pictures and let a little boy come with us before the characters went on break. I believe we were called selfish and pigs and a couple of other names. I guess we should have made the little boy get cut since it was the cast member who cut the line but we could not just do that and did not have the time to wait the 15 minutes for them to come back since we were going directly to the airport to catch our plane. I really don't know how we would rectify this situation, but I just wanted to share and apologize for causing a near riot for allowing a little boy to meet Hook.

I've really enjoyed some of these posts, and hate to break the lighthearted theme, but I do have a comment. It's perfectly reasonable and expected to let it go when someone cuts you off or bumps into you by accident. However, I do believe intentional wrongdoers should be called to task. I think we have accepted far too much rudeness in the world. If the majority of us don't try to enforce the civilities that make life more pleasant, we encourage more bad behavior. People will not learn what is acceptable and what's not if we ignore all their disrespect and discourtesy. I pity the kids of some of the park-goers you have described, those who curse you for tripping over someone you didn't see. Look at what they have taught their kids. Sometimes we need to stand up for what's right.

To the DD who was taken to task by the 17 year old who tried to cut in line, I say kudos to you. You showed your kids, in a nonviolent way, that it is OK to stand up for our rights. If you had backed off, would your kids think you don't disapprove of line-cutting? Would they BE that 17 year old in a few years?

I'm not trying to advocate violence here, but there should be negative consequences for bad behavior, and the rest of us should not feel bad about expecting courtesy.

Again, I want to emphasize I also believe in tolerance for innocent or unthinking mistakes.

OK, I hope we can get back to the funny stories again!

There are plenty of threads about things that OTHER people do that upset or irritate you. That is not the purpose of this thread.
We are here to bare OUR own souls and to apologize for mistakes We have made, both at WDW and in the RW.

As I wrote in my OP. The blame was all on me, not on anyone else and I caused a man some severe pain.

Remember confession is good for the soul.

Amen. May we please return to the soul-searching. I'm learning a lot, and feel a renewed sense of happiness about the group at large. And as part of my new confessional state, I've stopped responding to posts in the smoking threads. Isn't it wonderful?

Here is my guilty story.

After reading all of the "public urination" stories on the shock thread, I must confess that I (at least DD is) am guilty of that.

We had just left AK. The whole time we were heading to the gates, we kept askng DDthen3 (and just fully trained) if she needed to go potty. The whole time, she said no. Well, after we were outside the gates and about halfway to our car, DD suddenly announces she needs to go potty. Anyone who has just recently gotten their children trainined knows you have exactly 30 secs to get to a bathroom or you will have an accident on your hands. Well, I took her off to the side, stripped her bottoms off, and let her do her business. I wiped her off, then we all "cleaned" our hands with anti-bacterial gel. Since we were staying off-site, we still had a 20-30 minute ride ahead of us.

Lesson learned: no matter how many "NOs" you get, stop at that last bathroom inside the gates and make then try!

Welcome and feel free to post please. In most cases threads are a little free wheeling but some threads have a very narrow focus and it's real easy to get side tracked on other issues.

We arrived late to watch fantasmic. I had checked the hours on the website before I left for vacation and thought the MK closed at 9pm- wrong, it closed at 8pm- we got there at 8.05 and had to beg a CM to let us in- we had come all the way from Ireland and were only spending two nights, so you can imagine- I almost cried and he still wasn't letting us in- eventually he gave in, so the parade had startec.

I have two small kids and we were holding them up as best we could so that they could watch. Next thing, my mom arrives and says she has some great seats for us- the raised platform area at the bottom of main st. We brought the kids up- some kind gentleman had offered us his seats for the kids- my mom sat on one with my dd (then 1yo) and my ds (then 3yo) sat on the other.

I'm sure there were people there who had been staking out this spot for ages beforehand, but we really got the best view. I'm sure myself and dh standing behind the kids were in someone's way- it was crowded and I really did my best to stay out of the way, but you know how it is. Whoever that gentleman was though (and his wife), he made my ds's vacation- when asked what his favourite thing in WDW is, he replies 'the night parade'.

Can I apologise to all the other people who probably saw us arrive last minute and still get a good view?

This was at a resort - not the park - but a little kid (3) in the concierge lounge kept insisting on turning on the "lucky ducks" game.. it is a yellow plastic game with ducks on a turntable and they quack and quack and quack.

It didn't bother me so much except he kept just leaving it and going to do something else... I walked over and turned it off and he immediately noticed and came running over and turned it back on and then deserted it again.

I sent my daughter over to turn it off and put it away in the cupboard - he spotted her and ran over and wrenched it away from her and again turned it on and ran away with it.

The quacking went on and on but eventually him and his family went to get food which had just come out.. I quickly grabbed the still quacking duck game and turned it over to take the batteries out - no easy task - this is the child safe battery compartment that has the screw holding it closed.

I had to use my nail file to open it and grabbed a battery out (just one) then I returned it to where I had taken it.

A little while later the kid noticed it was not quacking and tried to turn it on and it wouldn't go on and he was stamping his feet - he took it over to his mom and she could not turn it on and I heard her say "Honey, I think the battery ran out" he started crying
and looking over at us -pointing - I think he knew

I later returned the missing battery to the CM who gave me a sly smile and a unspoken thank you.

Im still deciding whether I feel guilty about this or not.

We staked out a nice spot for the MGM parade last May, with DD (then 2) sitting on the kerb and me and DH standing behind. I picked up DD for the start of the parade and as is customary, a large pig headed oaf decided, that he is entitled to plonk himself down (practically on my feet) in DDs kerb spot. I told him that the spot was taken and he smart mouthed an answer back. I weighed up the options (full scale row or revenge) and decided revenge would be much neater.

I held DD round the middle and her dangling feet kicked around in time to the music. I made darn sure every kick I could made contact with Mr. Smart Mouth. He must have been covered in bruises, but he stuck out the whole parade whilst being kicked every 20 seconds by a toddler in pair of sneakers.

No, I still dont feel guilty.

Hey we had one of those "Lucky Ducks" game and I think what you did was the most humane thing you could do. When my dd played with that I was sometimes tempted take all the little duckies and stomp them. Quack, quack, quack

I had to rack my brain thinking surely as many times as we've been down there something was hiding in our closet - thankfully I couldn't think of anything until just a few minutes ago.

Here is our skeleton:

Our honeymoon May 2000 - DR and I and a 5 other family/friends had PS for R&C at 7:45 one evening. This was back when you could request a patio when you made the PS and we were told specifically no seatings after 7:50 would be allowed a patio table. So we arrive with our party of 7 and check in around 7:30 - the young female CM promply tells us that there are no patio tables and no PS before 8pm are allowed a patio table. Had we not be told specifically different information from CRO it may not have been so bad, but we kind of pitched a fit and were somewhat loudly repremanding to the CM about how this was our special occasion and they should know what CRO is doing and get the story straight and then the CM started to cry. DR and I both felt so horrible and petty - we immediately apologized to the CM and have been emabarrassed ever since. While we were somewhat justified in the aggravation of misinformation, it certainly wasn't the CM's fault and we certainly didn't really deserve any special treatment.

At least we did get to say sorry while we were there and to all the R&C CM's who have to deal with that situation EVERY night - hang in there!

Well....I really love the Mickey soaps from the resort, not the dinky, wafer size bars, but the real bath size soaps. So.... I take the plastic shower cap the Mousekeepers leave and put the bar of soap , the only bar of soap I let my family open and use, in the shower cap and hide it in my clothes every morning. That way, when the mousekeepers clean the bathroom, they notice that there is no bath size bar of soap and they leave me a new one, in a cute box, just like a present! Then, in the evening when everyone is ready to shower, I dig out the old, soggy, showercap wrapped bar and let them use it while I squirrel away another new bar to take home. It's not quite as bad as taking soap from the Mousekeeper cart, is it?! O.K., O.K., I'm sure I am single handedly driving up the price of rooms by doing this, but I can't help myself! Oh, boy, now that I've confessed this dark family secret, Lucy's dad is going to make me get my own log-in (this is Lucy's mom)!
