What do you do about clothes for your kids when you go to WDW in an off season? As I was dressing my kids today I was thinking that I am not sure if their summer clothes are still going to fit in Nov. I can go buy some clothes in a bigger size, but I really am not sure what size they will be in a few months. Do you usually buy your kids bigger clothes for a trip? Thanks
Tara

I usually wait till the month of the trip to see what my daughter is able to wear and bring some clothes. I know that I will buy a bunch of new clothes for my daughter on the trip which we will be able to wash and she can then use.

I tend to buy my children's clothes a little big anyway.

The climate in Houston is basically the same as Orlando so my kids wear whatever is currently in their wardrobe. Although, I must admit, I do buy all of us new things to wear on vacation.

Well, we are going this October and I'm sure my DD's 2T clothes will still fit her, however we just bought her a bunch of 3T pants and shirts for the fall. She's very tall, but skinny, I hope the pants won't be falling down.

I have that same problem! In the summer its fine since she fits into 2T shorts (my daughter will be 5 in Nov!!) but in the fall/winter she need pants and she needs a 4t length and the 4t waist is giant on her. I found a few 4 slims but she doens't like jeans so they are out. I try to buy her drawstrings but she had a bad experience in preschool wiht drawstrings so she won't wear them to school (she couldn't get them untied in time and wet her pants). So its only those stretchy pants and they are so big on her.

If you are concerned about not being able to find the right season of clothes before you go - check with the consignment stores in your area and see how late in the year you can buy shorts that they have in stock. I've been finding a ton of great stuff there for my girls.

You can also check ebay..they always have clothes for all seasons on there!

I did ebay I also asked around. And then I went and found clothes on clearence. I am going to be going through this in Decenmber..and I will try to start planning for it towards December. That way, they will be on clearence and the rest I will buy on Ebay.

In my experience if I buy them a little big at the end of summer, they usually fit in the spring. They may outgrow them before the end of the next summer, though. So I would pick up the next size on sale now. Probably all elastic waist things. For the next year or so, that is all you will want anyways. Pants and t-shirts will probably be comfortable in November. Jeans may be hot in the day time.

I buy the boys clothes a little big too. Otherwise it seems like they only wear the item once or twice then its to small. I can estimate pretty good on what size my kids will be in the next season--all except my first ds who always grew so much it was hard to keep up with him.

I so feel your pain! DD is 3, she's 38 inches and 26 lbs, her waist is 18 inches. Yes, this makes her a size 2 waist and size 4-5 length. I just found some Osh Kosh jeans at Costco for $11 with an adjustable waist. It's really adjusted though and so far she doesn't like them very much. I HATE to pay full price for clothes, but it looks like I won't have a choice. Nordstorm, Talbots, Gymboree, Oshkosh, Levi's and Gap all do some pants in adjustable waist.

Plus, she wears a narrow shoe, toddler 8. So, we pay $40 at Stride Rite! Most narrow shoes don't start until girls. UGH!

Have you found any things that work? I can sew in pliable material, but not jeans or khakis.

The summer capri pants and t shirt she is wearing today...size 12 months, this is her 3rd summer for it, she had just turned 1 when I bought it and she could wear it with a diaper to hold up the pants.

Being potty-trained has made buying long pants a NIGHTMARE!!

aprilgail2 & mom2grace-Have you tried Lands End Pants? I know we all have the same problem trying to find pants for our DD's. :)

I bought some Lands End for her and they fit perfectly! She has the jeans, cords, Khakis, and Yoga style leggings. They all fit great! :)
