For Obama supporters.

Will y'all continue to blame Bush even after he's left office? I guess IF Obama is elected, every single screw up he makes will be blamed on Bush?

WHy not? Everything except WWII has been blamed on Clinton!

Logic tells us that since Bush started this war, the next president should not be blamed for any of the troubles over there. I would give McCain the same consideration as I would Obama if he were to win.

And same goes for
Record breaking deficits and RECESSION, sure there are plenty more but those are the ones that stand out.

Logic has nothing to do with it, Nixon was blamed for vietnam when he didn't start that.

As for the recession, we have had one bad quarter, if we have another then we will be in a recession, it will probably happen, but we are going into the hollidays, so it may or may not come to pass.

Whazzuuup!

Dude, you're too young to be so jaded. Truly it aint as bad as they're telling you over there! You'll see when you get to my age. :thumbsup2

I try to give them the benefit of the doubt because they're young. Remember when we thought we knew everything?

:rotfl: I can't help but find this funny.

I live to please!:rotfl:

I've got news for you. This economic mess is the blame of both parties. You can't blame it all on Bush and you can't blame it all on the house dems. They've both done a terrible job and I'm not defending any of them.

W is still in office. And things aren't going so great and haven't been for a long time. I'm guessing it will take a while to fix the mess whichever candidate wins.

Absolutely! The new President will inherit a disaster.

Please keep an Obama picture in your sig so that a year from now when you are complaining about high taxes, an even worse economy and perhaps more global-related issues (think crisis), we say its your own fault - don't blame those of us that voted for McCain.
-----------------

I'm not a supporter of either candidate, but I'll tell you what.. When the day comes that any politician actually follows through on all of his campaign promises, I'll fall over and drop dead.. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think you're putting the cart waaaaaaay before the horse..;)

Now here's an intelligent post!:thumbsup2 (No offense to eeryone else:laughing: ).

Both candidates promise that they're able to correct the disaster. If it doesn't get fixed, then the candidates in 2012 shouldn't be promising everything good under the sun.

This thing about higher taxes is complete rubbish meant to scare people. The only people who will pay higher taxes are those with incomes in excess of $250,000. NO ONE ELSE will see higher taxes.

I will vote for Barack Obama. I will pay higher taxes. I'm not "happy" about paying more, but I don't think it's an unfair thing and I don't think it's a bad thing for our country.

The war in Iraq costs a lot of money. Someone has to pay for it.:sad2: [Of course, I remember the good ol' days when we were lied to about the war being self-financed by the profits from Iraqi oil.]

And by the way, the only tax increase I'll see will be my income that is in excess of $250K ... that's the way the U.S. Tax Code works. In other words, my income up to $250K will be taxed just as it is today ... it is only the amount above that that will be subject to a higher tax rate.

1) Obama is going to let the Bush tax cuts expire in 2010. THAT will be a tax increase on everyone.

2) Obama wants to eliminate the cap on social security taxes so that everyone from roughly $100k and up will have their taxes increased

3) Obama wants to increase the long term cap gains tax from 15% to 20%. Last time I checked many people making under $250,000 have long term cap gains that will be taxed at a higher rate.

4) The Dems want to eliminate the tax break on 401K. I KNOW many people making under $250,000 who contribute to 401Ks. Sounds like another tax increase on those under $250K.

Agreed. No matter WHO goes into that office, I feel bad for them. They have a whole LOT of mess to clean up and I don't envy them. Nor will I blame them if it takes a while to clean it up. If McCain wins, I truly wish him well. I don't want to see anyone fail at the job of president. I also would be smart enough to give him more than a year to try to put things in order before I started chastizing him for not being able to fix everything. Anything less would be lunacy.

For the war? Yes. He'll always be blamed for the war.
