? for NJ DISers/ traffic

My family will be traveling to Clark NJ next week with plans to visit the Statue of Liberty (Leaving form NJ). Map quest says the trip is 25 minutes (LOL) but this will be Thursday morning between 8 & 9 am. Anyone know how bad traffic is on the Garden State Parkway and Interstate 78 heading north towards Newark at that time in the am.

Any help woud be great!!! Here's hoping it won't take me 4 hours! DH will kill me if we have to leave the hotel at 5 am.

Hmm 8-9 is a little bit after the bulk of rush hour- but there will still be traffic- I would say it will take about an hour? If you are going through either of the tunnels- add about 30 minutes. Are you just going to the statue of liberty? If you are heading to Liberty state park and catching the ferry from there I think an hour is about right. *now if it is friday during the summer coming home will be your big problem.

Thanks for the info. We will be leaving from Liberty State Park and taking the ferry. I was beginning to get into panic mode. I am usually much better at planning than this. I just didn't think of it until now!

I'd plan on a full hour to get from Clarke to Liberty State Park at that time of the morning--maybe even a little longer, IIR it was almost a ten minute walk from the car to where we bought tickets and baording the ferry.
