Next month I'm taking my 16 year old cousin to NYC for some shopping for the day and we want to get something for lunch. I've been to NYC several times but we always eat at the same places such as Ruth's Chris for dinner and we've tried Hard Rock and All Star Cafe or go to bars which obviously my cousin can't go to b/c she's only 16. She and I have plain taste, we like steaks, chicken, burgers, Italian, you get the picture. Can you make any suggestions?

Thank you!

John's on 44th and 8th has brick over pizza.

Serendipidy on East 63rd has great burgers and even better desserts.

ellen's Stardust Diner (51st st, near the Wintergarten theater) has diner food but lots of atmosphere.

or for them restaurants there's Jekyll & Hyde near Carnegie Hall or Planet Hollywood in Times Square. Carmine's is also very good, but there's always a long wait.

We also like Jekyll & Hyde and there is also Mars2000 which is pretty good.

Mars 2112 can be fun -- but the food may be a bit exotic. I like it but a lot of people complain it's overpriced.

I second the nomination for Carmine's.
Yum! And huge portions - so you can split things.
