She will be going for the first time with her 2 young children (ages 2 and 6) and her husband. They are on a shoestring budget and need all the helpful ideas you have.

So, bring 'em on.

I find most meals are big enough for 2. So, the 4 of them could eat off of 2 meals.

Or get an appetizer as one main course.

Don't buy anything like souvenirs in the park. Use your DC discount at Downtown Disney.

Use DC discount for passes.

Check out DC discounts for hotels.

Priceline for Hotel if not determined to stay on property..Definitely priceline for car...as I got a mini van last year for $125 for the week. :)

Breakfast in room...stop and get cereal and stuff for room...eat early dinner..less croweded with kids, and if at 3 pm or so can get dinner buffets at lunch prices ;)

snacks in fanny packs....freeze water bottles in ice in sink .

Meal vouchers from connections. I'm using them as a way to prepay our meals.

Also Rainforest Cafe GC from mypoints. I think I'll have $75 worth by Easter. This will be the one time my son gets to order whatever he wants.

We eat our largest meal at lunch. We also eat breakfast in the room sometimes too. I'm not much of a breakfast eater so it doesnt matter to me. Plan your snacks carefully. There are lots of great things to eat but they are costly. The Land has a great food court too. Hope some of these ideas help.

I plan on taking one bag full of poptarts (kids love 'em), cereal, and other snacks. We will also be going to Wal-mart to get some bottle water, soft drinks, and juice boxes. I forgot to tell ya I am taking an extra insulated lunch box to keep a few water bottle cold, while in the park. We do plan on eating early to use the lunch menu. I hope that this helps. Have a great trip. :D

Or you'll face a lynch mod on the Debate Board

1. Bring a microwave, crockpot (or any other cooking appliance) to fix meals in your room

2. Bring a Picnic lunch and eat it in the park (making sure you use the counter service table)

3. Use a fixin's bar to make a salad.

4. Pass your 3.5 yo as under 3 or your 10.5 yo as under 10.

I am sure there are other things I am forgetting but you get the idea.

:) ;) :p :jester: :p ;) :)

okay now for some real tips.

a. Buy breakfast items and eat in the room.

b. bring water bottles to the park. You can fill them up at water fountains. Or go to any counter service and ask for ice water, they will generally give it to you FREE.

c. look for discounts on http://www.mousesavers.com & sign up for her newsletter for even more discounts

d. if you will have a car you can eat your evening meal off site.

e. buy a cheap cooler to use to keep things cool, save the $10 a night on the fridge rental.

And hang out on the Budget board.

How do you all feel about PB&J? You don't need a refrigerator for the PB or bread..and if you want, you could just pick up afew of the little jelly containers.
