For MouseSkywalker: Half Marathon questions

Hey David! I bet you could answer some questions I have about the half marathon. DH and some friends are running it in January and I'm wondering about hwo to get to the finish line. Is transportation provided for family members or do we rely on regular WDW transportation? About what time should I get there?

I know it's a ways away but I like to be prepared.....

Hi Denise. Good question. There will be Disney buses to get runners to the starting line, and family members can ride with the runners to the start. However, it's really, really early - we're talking 4am early. There are some good spots to stay if you want to watch your DH and friends run the race. The Poly is particularly good because the course goes by 2x, and then you can jump on the monrail to get to the finish. Besides the buses getting runners to the start in the morning, there's no other Disney transportation to the finish other than regular EPCoT buses.

Disney did something new last year where family members could buy into a chEAR package. You got some clappers and stuff to cheer, and got seats at the finish. I don't know if you got transportation to the finish though. Hope that helps.
