You crack me up UJ!!! I nearly spit out my 7 up reading how you spit out your beer, LOL!!!

So, how are you doing?

Does anyone else have a problem with how slow the DIS is? It's making me crazy. I thought it was my antique laptop but the other sites, like FB and stuff work fine???? :confused3

It's not just you....I'm having issues too

I think between Bryan and I its a toss up. It seems the things that make me so nuts and go off are the things Bryan stays calm about and the things he goes off about, I stay calm over so I guess it evens out, lol.

I go all "Jersey" on people if they upset me with stuff like that! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

 well at least you two even eachother out so that's good!

Trentonmom,
You are so funny! We are staying at AKLV 8/22-8/26 then BCV 8/26-8/30 - it my parents first year of DVC Members and they had extra points, so they were very generous!! Every year I've gone, my family and I have stayed at CBR, which has always been my favorite but I'm so excited to try these 2 fabulous resorts, that I never even dreamed of staying in!

I'm also going with my parents and brother in early August and staying at Saratoga Springs - I love my family :woohoo:

Ah not Michigan - Montclair State University - I'm an original alum to Ramapo College of NJ - but getting my Masters and MSU - lol nooo I was born in 83!
:cheer2:

Sounds like you are going to have a great time and have a great family! I can't wait to hear how you like AKLV, I bet it is gorgeous. You are going again in August, that is awesome! Of course I was just there for 10 months living less than 10 miles from Disney so I was pretty lucky and have no right to be jealous, lol, but I am cause I WANT TO GO BACKI! WAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I guess Mich. State would be kind of a hike from Jersey, huh?

Okay, so you were 7 when I graduated from college.... I was pretty close. :rotfl2:

Alrighty ALLA Y'ALL....... I'm outtie! I would never stay up dissing this late with Tomato home! I just noticed the time! I got to go to bed people!!! I'm so glad to have caught so many of you here tonight! Thanks for the pm UJ... it pulled me back in!

Yea UJ for bringing you back! We've missed you. See there is always some good somewhere in all situations and this time it is you being on the computer late at night to chat with everyone!

Glad you are back Love...

We missed you

Nite :cloud9:

Yea what she said!!!!

Thanks!! I hope so too!

LOL you did have a little drink..:rolleyes1

you're so sweet!

Hmm,I may have, :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks...I appreciate all the sympathies from everyone!

oh that is really great!

thanks...y'all are so supportive here. Love my girls! :grouphug:

We have a wonderful group here, we're all so blessed to have found each other! :grouphug:

oh man, that is just NOT RIGHT! I'm SO sorry to hear how badly you're being treated by your ex, and what she's causing your daughter to do. Like others have said, your daughter will realize one day what a great father you are and the hurt her actions have caused. I don't understand why she would blatantly volunteer the info about not having you in any of the pictures. How did she say it? It just seems very cold.

I agree with Sharky!

And seriously I think I would bring my own posters, or something to that effect.

Let us know what you ultimately decide.

I think we all feel the same way, and we are all protective of our UJ and hate to see him hurt. I know we are all waiting to hear how things are going and if UJ decides to go or not!

Glad you already got an appointment with an attourney. Let me know how that goes. I still can't believe that contractor. That guy really must have just escaped from a mental institution like you said.

It's okay. Yeah, just let me know next time you are in that area and we will come visit you. Maybe we can meet at the Belz outlets or something like that. I've been to the Tangier outlets....wonder why I missed the Disney outlet. I will for sure look for it next time.

Will do that for sure Carla!!! We went to the Belz Outlets and were in there about 10 minutes when the power went out and they had to chase everyone out!!! We made it into the Black and Decker store but didn't get to see much else! OH well, next time!

Maybe last time they didn't have a Disney Outlet in there, it may be new!!!:confused3

Hi MOm

That was a lot of fun tnite with a lot of here again :woohoo:

Yes I didn't realize how much I've missed the DIS and if they could get it going faster again, I'd be here even nmore often.

Thanks to all who gave advice....I really really really apprecitated it........choked me up.......UJ was flubbering.......the whole thing tears me up......

I think I might go and ask my daughter for the keys to her car and leave a big poster board with our familly photos on it and write her a letter and let her know she really hurt me but that I still love her sooooo much......

UJ

Cherbear,
I have a contractors license in Mi. The builder should be insured if he is legit......Sue him for damages to the roof and tell the courts you want someone else to repair the roof he ruined.....and then negotiate with that builder on the rest of the job....the new builder will surely way overbid the repair job and should give you some savings on the remainder.......Thet courts will probablly require you to get 3 bids on the repair........but DO NOT let that clown on your roof again.....EVER!!
UJ
I hope you didnt sign anything during the estimate process!!!

I think the poster is a good idea, afterall that was my first response for you to make a poster of you and she and your family things! But I think in a letter I would just ask her to meet with me and tell her in person how hurt you are by the slight and that it hurt you very much when she told you that the poster didn't include you and things like that. Sometimes in a letter you can misinterpret things, in person you can see their eyes, hear their voice and see the pain and sincerity. Good Luck UJ I hope that you can get it all worked out so that you don't get hurt any more as that just is not right!!!
:sad1:
Good advice for Cheri too!

Wow, I've missed a lot.

UJ, I'm hurting for you. I'm sure you know that I have a 16 year old son. It's kind of the same situation with him wanting to stay with the *%^#@ because of the lack of rules. I think it is something all teens go through. I know I liked going to his house when I was a teenager...no rules and no consequences.

And the ex does the same thing with using my son to hurt me. It works. He knows that he can't beat the hell out of me anymore, so he uses my son. And that hurts worse.

I read Mommom's reply to you and I agree with everything she said. I don't really have time to type out a whole reply to you right now, but I totally agree with her.

If you ever need to talk, I'm here for you. Not sure if you have my number, but your SIL does. Call me, text me (wait, can you do that?;)), whatever. I know how hard it is to have a child that you love so much and all they seem to want to do is make your life hell.:hug::hug::hug: for you.

And how about that hockey game?:)

Cheri, I can't believe everything you're going through. Jeez, when are you gonna give us some good news? Hope things get better soon.

DisneyBunny - Hi, I'm Nikki. I guess I missed the boat on giving you advice, but I agree with what the others said. Hope you can work things out with Anna. I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with someone with cancer, too. Seems to be too much of that going on around here lately. Hope you stick around. These girls and guys are great friends to have and really help out when you're feeling down.

Steph - Did he really say that? He's not even 5 months old yet! Wow. I can't remember how old mine were when they first said that, but I had an early walker (Shane was 7 months and toddling around - we knew he'd be our athlete) and an early pottier (Kyleigh was potty trained at 11 months - as soon as she started walking, she was ripping her diaper off and going). That's great that he's learned that already.

Nic - Sorry the hubby's gone. I know you must miss him.:hug:

Hi to everyone else. Sorry, I've been really busy lately.

Where's Betsy? And can somebody please have some good news?

Hey Girl, we missed you! How you feeling?

I agree w/others ... go to party, make nice and leave early.

Another good idea instead og posterboard is to go on-line and make a photobook. It's not as cumbersome as p-board and they look really good. You would have to convert your non-digital ones or take a clear pic of it.

snapfish, shutterfly, cvs, etc

Sorry, I never made it to this thread...

well you guys are a good influence for me:thumbsup2 I really didn't want to come on here and say I retaliated...

:cool1:

Yea we are all a pretty good bunch and give pretty good advice, glad you decided not to retailiate, let us know how DH likes his gift. It sounds awesome!

HEY HEY HEYl....I sprayed beer out of my mouth when I read this.....give a guy a break!!!! I thought you ladies had your private spot to talk about that stuff......lol:lmao::lmao:

I was wondering if you'd see this...

Sorry!! Ok, not really ... it was just funny at the time ... d'ya ever wonder what your Dis buddies are doing while they are posting?!?

hey, that could be a new thread we could start...wonder if the tag fairies would check that out...

oh, one more post ... for those with kids (or anyone else who wants to comment)

How do you know when your child is ready to go on vacation without you for a week?

My parents have taken my nephews to Mrytle Beach when they were 4 years old. So now it is my DD's turn as she turns 4 the day they plan to leave my house. Now she will be the youngest (my nephews were several months past 4) and although she knows her grandparents, it's not like it is with my nephews who live about 1-2 miles away from them.

So my DD knows them but hasn't really spent a lot of time with them ... only one night (3 different times) when DH and I weren't around to put her to bed...never an overnight where we weren't there for her in the morning.

Everytime I talk to her about it, she just cries and says she doesn't want to be gone for 8 days -- wants to only do 2 or 3 days but that isn't possible since my parents have ressies for the whole week.

On a positive note, my sister, BIL and nephews will also be going to MB with my parents, so DD3 will have a "better time" IMO, since she'll be able to play with her cousins and my sis/BIL can help out, too.

With the sometimes 'indifference' that my dad shows to my girls and my mom's physical limitations on the sand, I was really leary about letting her go. But now that my sister and her family will be there, I think it would be a great chance for her to get away, go to the beach and get lots of attention (something she lacks right now).

So how do I prepare her for the trip? I already told her that it is ok to be sad/cry...we will miss her too ... we'll be in her heart and she will be in ours ... we can talk everyday, multiple times if we need to...she'll have lots of fun, etc.

Being the MomMom here you know my opinion, let her go and have a great time! I think spending time with grandparents is so very important. I'm sorry about the indifference your dad shows the girls but maybe he just doesn't know how to relate to girls as opposed to boys. As they get older and more independent I bet his ways will change!

I do think grandparents should be allowed to take the children away and spend quality time with them sometimes (hint hint to someone)...

That's a great idea. Or like Marshay said, do the electronic one. I'm sure it will mean a lot.

We have signed NOTHING with this guy. That's what makes this whole thing SO FREAKING BIZARRE!! All he did was tape an estimate to the door!

We actually have some people starting today on the roof. We didn't want to wait and these guys were able to come and do it. DH's coworker knows them well and they really needed work right now. We had gotten a quote from them before but the reason we didn't hire them right away was because we wanted to look around first. Now we are kicking ourselves for not just hiring them in the first place!!

And for sure...that guy will NEVER be let on our roof and if we can help it, on none of our neighbors roofs either. Maybe not on a roof ever again!!

That guy doesn't deserve to ever be on a roof again, I bet he doesn't even have a license! I can't wait to hear how the lawyer takes him down! Dont' kick yourself, you can't go back and you diodn't know, why would you have ever dreamed that something like that would happen.

I'm going nuts here waiting for 1:30 so we can see the lawyer.

Get this....the other guys we found to do the roof came this morning (can't remember if I told y'all about that...we had gotten a quote before, they don't work with a contractor though...) Anywho, they came and got straight up on the roof. Well...bad news! (yes, again) When Mike finally got a good look at the shingles this morning, Mike noticed Lowe's sent the wrong ones!! Right color, just not the right architectural style. BUT he thought, well, we're just gonna have to get it done with these because our freakin roof is exposed. Oh, did I mention we don't need to do the part of the roof that's over our newest addition (the carport/garage) so that means this new roof will be DIFFERENT than the part over the carport/garage area. Which means we will have to have it done AGAIN. Or have them stop and leave our roof bare right now...which is just not an option for us. So we're going to have to bring all this up at the lawyers too. If this guy hadn't screwed up and sent his workers to start tearing down our roof, we would have just sent these shingles back and waited til the right ones came in and then had our roof done. But he messed EVERYTHING up for us. This is going to be MAJOR.

You poor thing, I can't believe another glitch! Yes if you had time you could have checked out the shingles, saw they were wrong, sent them back and got the right ones. Now because of those idiots tearing off shingles you are stuck to do it ASAP! Definitely tell the lawyer that! Those contractors (the scammers) should have to pay for doing the other part of the roof to match now.

Today I thought DIS was really slow.

I go all "Jersey" on people if they upset me with stuff like that! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Same here. DH and I each will go crazy on a different issue. I think as one person gets hyper, the other goes the opposite direction. Makes me mad sometimes b/c I think, "why aren't you upset as well?" But then I do the same to him and realize, oh, a 2nd opinion helps.

Yea we are all a pretty good bunch and give pretty good advice, glad you decided not to retailiate, let us know how DH likes his gift. It sounds awesome!

He better like his gift!!:rotfl2:

Being the MomMom here you know my opinion, let her go and have a great time! I think spending time with grandparents is so very important. I do think grandparents should be allowed to take the children away and spend quality time with them sometimes (hint hint to someone)...

Thanks for your advice!! I need to realize that this could be the last time my parents could do this...waiting another year or so might not be an option... one never knows.

And I could make something special for DD3 to open up every day -- as simple as a letter to read each day ... or maybe a countdown calendar for her so she knows when she'll come back home again...

That guy doesn't deserve to ever be on a roof again, I bet he doesn't even have a license! I can't wait to hear how the lawyer takes him down! Dont' kick yourself, you can't go back and you diodn't know, why would you have ever dreamed that something like that would happen.

Based on my own "dining room furniture debacle", I will assume that both parties will settle and the contractor will be out doing it to someone else again.

Cheri needs to also take it to the local media's consumer watch division!! Let them do an expose on the guy ...

Hey, Chele!

DH and DD3 are at swim class. Baby is sleeping and I'm trying to do some cleanup in my craft room and DIS.

What's up with you?

Not much I am sewing a pillow for Loren's band teacher. All three of the kids have had this teacher and there is a possibility that he may not get the same teacher next year because his school is closing. Although he did hear today which school the teacher is going to so I am more hopefu; about Loren getting Mr Hunt again. How nice quiet for you. I know you must appreciate it.
