Kelly is having a great time. They went to the train museum today and then to the toy train store and they had lunch at the Red Caboose Restaurant. Trent loved eating in the caboose, it's an actual caboose car and he thought that was cool.

She sent me this by cell phone. Trent was really enjoying himself and of course so were Kelly and Steve just to see how excited and happy Trent was.

Later they had dinner at Kelly's favorite restaurant. Can anyone guess what it is?????

I talked to her a little bit ago by text and she said they were in the motel room, sitting in their PJs and drinking creamy birch beer. They were really having a nice time. She'll give us more details and more photos when she gets home!.

UJ - We are pretty close to Cedar Point...meaning under 2 hours. Haven't been there in years though. I hear it's awesome! Hope you have a good time! But you didn't pick Disney It's ok...everyone needs a change of scenery from time to time!

We havent been to CP in years....( I would rather go to Disney!!!) the boys go every year with someone else.....its our turn this year!!! Last time we went DW and I rode a stand up roller coaster.......not good......I have never had a problem on any ride before....that one screwed us both up......we walked around for a awhile....sat in a Saloon.....drank a few beers and didnt ride anything else the rest of the day.......

I'm going to take lots of photos!!!!

The rollercoasters there are incredible.....We are going to ride Top Thrill Dragster.....goes 125mph, straight up 400' hits a U-turn and goes straight down back to the station.....the average wait is 2 hours........but I have to do it!!!

Its about a 2 1/2 hour drive for us........

The Tomato has been stuck on an airplane here in Raleigh since 6:30 this evening! He was supposed to fly to Atlanta and then on to PC. I guess there is some NASTY weather in Atlanta so they couldn't take off from here.

CARLA~ are you okay???

Anyway, they finally deplaned everyone about 15 minutes ago and he is waiting in line to talk to an agent to see what he should do. I may be going back to pick him up and he'll fly out in the morning instead because there is no way he's making his connection now.

I thought I post some of our trip details and some pics

Steve was in bed by about midnight Friday evening.


Trent and I were not tired and I had some last minute things to do.

We did not hit the bed until amost 3:30am

I could not fall asleep for anything...last time I saw the clock, it was 4:45

The alarm went off at 7am.

I did not feel that tired, since never got a chance to be in a deep sleep

Trent got to sleep in car, so he got about 6 hrs asleep by the time we got there.

Had brought a banana for Trent, to tide him over for a bit.

We first went to regular train museum in Strasburg

This had an actual coffin in it

I just thought this was cute

Wow that is some trip to Cedar Point, that's going to be expensive! You could have gone to Disney and taken me with you and your sweetie for less than that, I dont' eat much. LOL

See, we need a DISLAND trip!!!

We meet at Loves house.....we all spend the night....get up in the am...drive to the world.....check-in (on property of course!!!), go to downtown Disney for the night.....hang out.....get up early the next day and do MK......Big DISLAND photo in front of the castle....... Lunch at Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe.....we could all be dancing to the band (those guys rock!)

Next day do AK....leave the park around 5:00, go back to the rooms and get changed in to our hawaiian stuff and head to OHANA for a great family style dinner.....We will get a huge table by the windows and watch the fireworks over the castle......At Ohana everyone is related....we are all cousins........ALOHA COUSIN!!!!

We can do HS and Epcot the following days......(drinks from around the world at Epcot of course!!!)

Of course we would all have matching Tshirts with our screen names on them!!!!!

Dis was being so slow, I double posted

They had plaques on all the walls of people who worked on railroad.

I took this for my mom to show Bryan

THey had a little section set up for kids to pretend they were delivering mail.

This was a simulator where you were supposed to be conductor of the train

Here kids could pretend like they were shoveling coal into coal train

I had Trent sit with his head in window so he would look like a passenger

After we were done with museum, we went and had breakfast/lunch at Red Caboose Restaurant

I did not take any pictures other than the one my most posted earlier

Food was good...I had cheeseburger and fries. Trent had Grilled Cheese and fries. Steve had Reuben.

They had horse and some sheep outside. Horse was so sweet. We enjoyed petting him

They had a refrigerator where we could put some drinks in it.

They also had a few things in it and some snacks on top in a bowl.
It had a sign saying drinks were $1.00 and snacks were $.75. There was a 2nd bowl where it said to put your money in that bowl to pay for them. Guess they had an honesty policy.... (No we did not take any)

Kelly the photos are great so far, I only saw one set, and then had to check out UJ's vacation plans for all of us so now will get back to see if you've posted more in the meantime. I've already stolen them, naturally. Trent looks so happy to see his beloved trains! So sweet! Glad you had a great time.

After we relaxed at hotel a bit. I took about a 20 min nap as I was about to collapse

We went over to the toy museum

As Trent would say, It was pretty lame(his new word).

So glad it was cheap and it was free for Trent

They had a bunch of trains behind plexi glass. You could push buttons and make things light up, make noise or make actual toys run


Trent favorite thing in the whole place was lego display.

It was pretty cool.

I could not get whole display in one pic, as it was so huge..so here is part of it

Trent liked this one as it had a skeleton lying under tracks

This is hard to see, but that is spiderman on the roof

They also had a Thomas the Tank engine and Friends display. Here are two pics from them

After we were done here, we went to a few train stores over at Strausburg railraod across the street.

We watched the train take off a few times

Trent was a bit upset since he did not get to go on one. But it was expensive and it was late.

Do not feel too bad for him as he went about 6 months ago.....when Thomas was there and got to ride two trains....

We would make up for that tomorrow (which is today)

Thanks for posting the pic of the placque for Bryan. He's not sure but it may be a great Uncle, someone from his grandfather's family, like his brother's family or something. That was pretty cool.

I loved your room, that motel was so quaint. Trent looked so funny getting comfy in the room, he's such a ham!

That horse looked like a nice horse. Did Trent pet him? It must have been a nice experience for him to see a real farm right next door. You picked a great motel to stay at! It really looks nice!

It's a shame you didn't get any pictures of the Red Caboose Hotel, that is so cute looking and the restaurant dining room is awesome. I'm glad you got to eat there, not to mention your precious Waffle House, lol.

Why am I not surprised that Trent's favorite thing in the Toy Train Store was the Legos, lol. I can just picture him loving the part with the skeleton on the tracks, lol, he's such a trip. I love him! He always makes me smile. He is too funny.

So did he have fun on the high speed line? How did he like that?

After museum we had dinner at Waffle house..

Can not go wrong there..mmmmmmmmmm


We also ran over to walmart to buy a Sig air gun. I probably totally have that wrong. But it is as big and heavy as a real gun, but it shoots pellet.

Steve had fun practicing in the room


Later on we ran back out to Target to get some legos.

Trent really wanted to go home and was having a meltdown. He was super tired and not happy.

He missed his legos.

So we took him to get a set.


Once we got back, all was good again.

We got all comfy in our pajamas. Steve and I watched tv, while Trent played.

We were all so tired, go into bed by 11pm and were asleep by 11:30

I woked up around 4am and got sick. I had no idea why. Once I was done, I felt all better.

Steve saw me sitting up watching tv after getting sick and he shared a story with me


In front of our bed, did you remember seeing the mirror?

Anyway....Steve said he woke up about 2am and saw a Person walk across the room in the mirror.

However, the image was only in the mirror, and not in the room.

At the same time as the image passing in the mirror, Trent sat up and began to cry. It was only for 5 secs.

As soon as image disappeared, trent laid back down and went right to sleep.

Steve said after image passed, the hangers began to shake back and forth very fast.

This place was very old fashioned and only had a window air conditioner, so it was not air from a vent making them move


I am thinking now whatever presence was in the room made me sick as well,

I know that is weird, but we always seem to have ghosts around us.

On our trip to Pop in 2007, we had hangers moving there as well with no air going on.

Our house now is almost 100 years old and is an old farmhouse. We have seen things here, like shadows and objects moving.

When I grew up, My dad and I saw plenty of ghosts as did my brother.

Our basement was an old slave chamber.

So, I really think spirits just attach themselves to us when we leave

I know weird, but you never know


We eventually fell back to asleep and woke up about 9am

We got up and got ready and got Heck out of dodge by 10am


We went and had breakfast at waffle house, as one can never have enough that place

Then we went to outlets and Steve went into a few stores as Trent was tired, so we hung in the car

Oh I forgot, we went to Disney Store outlet the night before.

I got two cute Toy story shirts for Trent for $2.99 and a cute long sleeved pink top for me with Tinkerbell on it for 5.99

Anyway, after we were done at outlets, Trent mentioned again taking a ride on the train

We told him we could take him on a faster train and into city

He went for it.

So we drove to NJ and stoped at Hi Speed line. We caught the train into Philly.

Boy that was fun

But Trent had fun and that is all that matters. He had fun going through tunnels and under bridge and seeing the cars

We walked around city for about a half hour.

We went to a fountain and Trent threw in some coins and made some wishes

There really was not a lot to do, without paying a ton of money. Trent was a bit whiny, but fountain had cheered him up.

Then thought of going home and playing with his legos made him perk back up.

That concludes our Lancaster adventures.
