This is in response to some requests I had gotten to detail my Epcot plans that I referenced (and Landbaron references) in the Specific buisness issues post.
Landbaron and I spent way too much time looking for the old post, which is probably on the old board, so I'll just restate my theories here.

First, My theory is based on the premise that Epcot was bulit on the World's Fair model. And in that model, You take a science museum (Museum of Science and Industry in chicago is a good example, plus it was built for the columbian Exposition of 1892....but I digress) Where you have classes of subjects, such as transportaion grouped together in pavilions.

To my mind therefore, in futureworld, The Land, The Wonders of Life, The Living Seas and even crass comercial Innoventions follow the theory best.
The left side of the park, Test Track, Mission:Space and UoE fail miserably.

Rides like horizons are actually cool as they are stand alone type up with sceince rides.

So then, my solution was Testrack is transportation, Mission:Space is Transportation. So, the space between and around the outside of the 2 buildings would be turned into exhibit space (I wanted it to be bilevel, but that isn't required. This would then become the transportation pavilion.
B-C tickets around. Boeing could bring in a 737, GM (Or GE) could bring in a modern Diesel locomotive). the entire section would be turned into a daylong affair including things to do while waiting for Test track. Aviation of course would segue to aerospace etc.
I don't know about water transport, it should be there too, but there's only so much space (hence my bi-level plan)

On the other side of the park, The Living Sea and The land would form the "Earth" part of the park. The land would stay as is, The Sea would have a major focus change. The tank and the dolphins would move over to Animal Kingdom where they belong. A new E-ticket would be put in. Recently I've been thinking some sort of Natural Disaster type thing with Volcanoes and Earthquakes and Huricanes, but that's just a thought. Perhaps a general history of Man's interaction with the sea (mini TDS) The Resturant could stay (put some small, but fancy fish tanks instead of the huge empty one.) Again, in between would be smaller exhibits, b-C tickets etc.

Imagination and Energy would stay as is.
Energy would actually fit in with the Earth section, but it tells its story well as a single ride, plus a major move like that simply isn't reasonable. Imagination actually fits more into my third pavilion, but again, its good where it is (note to self, what about an Imagineering pavilion, with references to Imagineering and so forth and so on, Hmmm.)

wonders of Life would stay too, it is important to the Worlds fair theme, but doesn't fit elsewhere.

Now then, what about the middle? Well, I think that what Future World lacks most is a section on computers. I mean, how can you talk about modern and future technology and not have computers?

Computers ties in Nicely with Communications, so I think that it should extend from spaceship earth and include part of innoventions. I'm thinking a Tron like ride would be cool.
Finally this leads into consumer electronics and Innoventions. I actually think Innoventions is okay, its like the consumer electronics show/Comdex for the rest of us.

Now then what's still missing?

Horizons, Horizons and its up with Science pull everything else together theme is missing.

I don't know if I made these comments in the original post, but I've felt that Horizons needs to be recreated to tie the park together.
How would I do it?

First, I'd rip out Carosel of Progress in MK.
Then I'd take a portion of innoventions (in case you've been paying attention, Innoventions is mostly gone as it currently exists now.) Add a floor and build the Horizons/Progress ride (okay, so I'm not good with names :))
This ride would take a look back at consumer progress as CoP does, then go through the current room which would have to be updated regularly and would be an excellent place for product placements and then would move on to the future (Horizons)which would also be high maintainence.

It would be a nice Up with Sceince theme.

So there you go, I don't think this was a succinct as the original post, I hope I still got the theme of Related Pavilions idea across and the Worlds Fair Idea. I didn't address updating current rides such as WoL or JIYI, because that's self evident and not a function of my vision (it needs to be done)

Oh, and an unrelated request, please post in my Top 5 attractions thread on the debate board. I'm just tyring to collect data, so it would be inappropriate to editorialize as we so often do, I want as large a statisitcal sample as possible, and we tend to turn people off with our arguing, but I still need your votes.

thanks

YoHo

Well YoHo!! I'm glad you re-posted it. I was getting tired of hunting for it. And I will reply the same way I did to the first one.

WOW!!!! YoHo!!! Fantastic!! I usually don't play the "what if" game, but this is certainly a better vision for my beloved EPCOT than they presently have. Is it the best? I don't know, but it sure is a great start.

Thanks again for the re-post!!

YoHo, your plan may become reality! Screamscape (I Beleave) says that Disney is currenly pondering the idea of bringing the Hurricane attraction from DisneySeas and putting it next to Living Seas and Land! Then they would tie the pavilions into eachother with rides and walkways to the other pavilions! A perfict spot for rainy days!:)

Thanks YoHo and DVC-LandBaron! I hope at least some of these concepts will be taken into consideration. If we can dream it....
