Tony: Aha, Okay. Hey, Joe! Butch-a he say he wants-a two spaghetti speciale, heavy on the meats-a ball.
Joe: Tony, dogs-a don't a-talk!
Tony: He's a-talkin' to me!
Joe: Okay, he's a-talkin' to you! You the boss!
[brings the spaghetti, muttering to himself in Italian; Tony snatches the spaghetti from him and serves it to the dogs]
Tony: Now, here you are-a, the best-a spaghetti in-a town.
Tony's Town Square is located near the front entrance of MK. The reviews that I read for this place weren't very positive so we didn't have high hopes for it. Plus, Italian food isn't really on of my favorite cuisines, although DS could live forever in a vat of red sauce. Originally we had an ADR for the Plaza but after much hemming and hawing decided that between the two, Tony's was more appealing.
When we first arrived and were greeted by the turn of the century dressed hostesses, we had no idea that the theme of the restaurant would be...LADY AND THE TRAMP! Right there, this place shot up to the top of list (ok, we had only been to one other restaurant thus far so it was short list, but it shot up quickly). I LOVE Lady and the Tramp.
He's a tramp
But I love him
Breaks a new heart
Ev'ry day
He's a tramp
They adore him
And I only hope
He'll stay that way
(just a word of warning if you get the song stuck in your head. Be very very very careful standing in line at the store and singing the words, he's a tramp out loud, as that word has another meaning now then it did in those days. Trust me on this one
)
Legend has it that outside the back alley of the restaurant is where Lady and Tramp had their first kiss over a big bowl of pasta and a-meat-a-ball
So romantic, sigh.
We were seated at a window seat in the outer atrium with a view of Main Street. Great for people watching while waiting for your food. I would encourage everyone to ask for the atrium seating. Our waiter looked like he came straight out of the movie! Very Joeish and very nice and went out of his way to assist us in our meal. Without further adoo:
Appetizers:
Can't get them to show up, will come back to them later, sorry, I'm still learning
Calamari - Tossed with olive relish, and served with side of marinara sauce.
Zucchini Fries - Breaded ,seasoned with a creamy sun dried tomato dressing for dipping
Tomato and Mozzarella Salad - Tomatoes, fresh Mozzarella, and Red Onions tossed with Roasted Garlic, Shallots, and Balsamic Dressing.
Entrees:
Mickey shaped cheese ravioli with red sauce.
Usually my 2DDs don't like ravioli but I was hoping with it being Mickey shape it would work for them. And it did do the trick for a few bites but in the end they preferred the appetizers.
Chicken Parmigiana - Lightly breaded chicken breast with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella over spaghetti.
DS loved this and despite all his protest that he wasn't hungry, cleaned the plate. Second, it was HUGE. The size of my DD2's head! In fact, this was the beginning of the head size meals.
Eggplant Catasta (stack) - Layers of eggplant, fresh mozzarella, and parmesan with marinara sauce
One of the reasons the idea to switch from The Plaza to Tony's got in my head was because I saw a picture of this on the Disboard. Unfortunately the picture wasn't anything at all like the actual dish. I'm not sure if the picture was labeled incorrectly or Tony changed their dish but it wasn't even close. That a side, the dish was very good. Taste like a delicious veggie lasagne. I really liked Tony's sauce. Not too acidic, not to sweet. Just very flavorful with enough chunks to make it feel homemade.
Shrimp Scampi - Linguini with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Asparagus tossed in a Garlic Sauce
Beautiful isn't it? DH said the shrimp was very good, cooked perfectly, but the rest was very MEH. Needed salt. Which there wasn't any on our table and we were sure if it would be polite to ask for some. Didn't want to insult the chef. In fact, there is a serious lack of salt on the table in WDW.
Desserts:
ice cream sundae
The DDs loved the sprinkles!
Tiramisu - Espresso soaked Lady Fingers, whipped mascarpone and dark chocolate shavings.
This was excellent. Super light and airy. DS hates Tiramisu but tried this one because it didn't look like Tiramisu and said it was surprisingly good.
Pistachio Creme Brulee - Pistachio Creme Brulee
This was one of my favorite Creme Brulees of the entire trip. It wasn't overly pistachio flavor. Just real subtle and gave a slightly different take on Brulee. Would definitely order this one again
Special of the day: Chocolate Hazelnut Cake
This was very light considering it was chocolate on chocolate. Our favorite part was the back side with the nuts, lol. Which seems appropriate considering we're all a little nuts in this family.
So final thoughts. Tony's Town Square is a very cute but subtly themed restaurant conveniently located with nice views of the entrance hub of MK. Great for a cool mid day break from the hot Floridian sun. The food is very good and we would definitely come back here if we ever needed a place to eat while at MK.

ETA: I thought the prices were really reasonable considering the portion sizes. We would have been happy with just the appetizers but could've easily split one main dish with me and both DDs.
Next up will be Jiko's. Do you hear that? That's the sound of Gregorian Monks Chanting songs of love to heaven. Hmm? I wonder if that means we liked Jiko's?
