Hey all,

We won't be back to WDW probably for over a year, but we were thinking of splitting our next stay between a CR Tower room for 2 nights and AKL for the rest.

How hard is it during value season to get a MK view room at the Tower. That is really the only reason we would want to stay at CR (I stayed there almost every year from the time I was 8 to the time I was 18 with my parents and I'm not crazy about the theme) and if it's next to impossible to stay in a room that views the MK, we'd probably skip it. Do you have to stay concierge to get an MK view room?

Thanks, waaay in advance! (seriously, this trip probably won't happen until late 2006/early 2007)

There is no way to guarantee a MK view - it is only a request.

Your odds are 50/50.....

Thanks. Is there anywhere at CR where people can see the fireworks? Do you have to be dining at the CA Grill to go to the observation deck?

Actually, there are 24 more bay view rooms than MK view rooms, since the bay view starts on the 5th floor, and MK view starts on the 6th floor.

We stayed on the Tower Club for New Years 2002, arriving on December 28. We requested and got a MK view. Since it was the busiest time of the year, we were very pleased that our request was granted.

That must have been awesome at that time of year. :flower:

I have not stayed at the CR since I was a kid travelling with my parents so I'm a little out of the CR loop. We're considering maybe a trip at the end of 2006 so I figured I'd start my research early. :sunny:

I think in value season it would be fairly easy to get a tower room with a castle view, especially if you make your request early enough. Most of the people who stay there don't request a view one way or another. We stayed at CR in March and read numerous CR threads. I don't remember reading about anybody who requested a castle view in advance and didn't get it. You will have better luck if you check into your room earlier in the day and be prepared to wait a few hours to get into the room that you want. The CR rooms should be completely renovated by late 2006. They look awesome (see allearsnet.com). I'd also recommend making your ressie as soon as you possibly can. I imagine the price of the CR will skyrocket once the word is out about how great the renovated rooms are.

There is an observation deck on the 4th floor of the CR that has a view of the fireworks.

Thanks all. I saw some pictures of the renovated rooms yesterday. They look great. Very different from the last time I stayed there (I think my last stay at CR was when I was in 1994!)

We probably won't be making this trip until at least late 2006 so maybe we'll get one. We're hoping to have a general budget ready though to book by the end of this summer. Do you think that is enough time?
