For FD: Are you getting the same price on phone and website?

This may get buried on the big thread so I wanted to separate it out also.

I got ASMo but the price from the phone was over $300 more than what the website quotes if I just do a regular non discounted MYW package reservation for room and 2 day tix.

For Aug 28-Sept 5 , 2 A and 2 Juniors (children 10 and up) at ASMo Standard Room with 2 day base tickets and no insurance

website price $1444.34

phone price $1764.34

The web price includes all the taxes and things, doesn't it? So they should be the same numbers.

I have played on the site with some different options to see if he did the wrong tix or preferred room or insurance (even though he said he didn't) but I can't get that amount. I don't have to time to mess with it anymore now, but is anyone else getting different numbers on the phone for the actual booking than if you put it in the website as just a package without dining?? This price is a deal breaker for us and I will have to shorten the trip. :(

Just a question, as I was working with numbers all last night and made several mistakes along the way...

Were you trying to upgrade the free QSDP to DDP? Because if that extra charge for the upgrade was added over the phone, maybe you still needed to add that on to your figures from the rack rates you got on the website... just a thought.

Two adults and two juniors should be an extra $40/day for that upgrade... that would be about your price difference.

Is the difference due to trip insurance which is an amount applied to each adult on the reservation? Often over the phone they automatically put the trip insurance on unless you ask them to remove it.

Ours was correct....to the penny. I would call and ask...it may be insurance and any combination of things.

They upgraded you to the DDP. Since you technically have 4 Disney "adults", they added on $40/day which equals $320.

is there a way to select free dining on the disney site bookings? Ive never done the free dining and want to see if we should rebook. I thought you had to be a disney visa holder...I dont see it under special offers..I did a sample booking and selected quick service. but..the price is more than the kids play and stay, which doesnt seem free to me.
let me know, because Id love to postpone a month and get free dining, just dont know how to compare the bookings.:happytv:

FD will be available to the general public on Monday, May 3rd. You'll be able to book it online starting that day, but I'd probably call. Disney Visa cardholders were able to start booking with FD yesterday, but we all had to call and book over the phone. The Disney World website doesn't post Disney Visa discounts.

Depending on how many kids (ages 3-9) you have, the kids stay and play deal might be better for you. We only have one child, so FD is much better for us. The look at the kids deal, go onto the Disney site and just enter info for the adults that are going (just hotel and tickets). That will give you the price for that deal. To check how much FD would save you, enter info for everyone in your party (hotel and tickets for everyone). Don't select a dining plan.

BINGO! I bet that is it! I know it wasn't insurance because I triple checked that when he gave me the price. I wonder exactly how he got "upgrade to DDP" when I specifically said this was a budget trip only because the dining is FREE, and he never said anything about upgrading or the differences in the plans.

Bless you for figuring that out!! I am off to call them.

:worship: Yep! That was exactly the problem.

SO, just a warning! If the price doesn't come out like you think it should make sure you are not being upgraded! This CM was extremely nice and sweet but I can only imagine how many other Value resort reservations he has made since yesterday morning that he upgraded to DDP instead of leaving it at QSDP. When he went over the package elements he just kept saying the MYW Package with the Free Dining, 2 day tix and no insurance so I had no reason to think that he had upgraded me. I even mentioned to him that we don't do the sit down meals.

I get a ticker now!:dance3:
