Hi...we just got back from a month in Texas (husband was working down there) and I wasn't keeping up with posts. I just read yours and had to respond. My hair is fine, but I have a lot of it and it's extremely curly (think corkscrews). I wear it a little below my shoulders. I never have a problem with frizz...not in Florida, Texas or the Caribbean... It's because of a product I use from Ouidad, in combo with my shampoo and hairspray.
Ouidad is a woman with curly hair who started a line of salons just for women with curly hair. She does not have a salon in our area so I order products from her website (Ouidad.com). The product that has saved my hair is called Climate Control. It's like a gel, but is not thick (has a water-like consistency). I wash my hair with a Kerastase shampoo (right now I'm using Bain Satin #2) and then rub some Climate Control in my palms (the amount depends on your particular hair) and run in through my hair. I let my hair air dry for about 45 minutes while I get dressed etc. and then use a diffuser for about 10 minutes to get any excess wetness out. Then I spray it with a little Sebastian Spritz Forte hairspray. I've been using this combo for years and I can tell you honestly that I don't ever have a frizz problem - not even when it's over 100 degrees in Texas or Florida and the humidity is raging. Or even when my son plays with my hair. You can order samples of products from the Ouidad website if you want to try before you buy. They also have lots of tips. Also, about the Kerastase, they do have a shampoo for curly hair, but it was too heavy for me as my hair is fine. The Bain Satins work well for me. Kerastase is sold in salons and so is the Sebastian Spritz Forte. Kerastase is expensive, but worth every penny. Anyway, I hope this helps you!
